I returned to SWG just a few days ago, and I'm really having a hard time sorting things out. I plan to be a Combat Medic. I thought I had to be Master Marksman plus Master Medic to be CM. A friend told me I only needed Ranged Support and one line of weapons, and not all the boxes to Master. All information I see seems to require Master Marksman, meaning all boxes filled. I'm seeing templates that look impossible, with three masters but not Master Marksman. I hope I explained this clearly.

Also, the Bacta skills are new to me now. I'm not clear on why we use them and not the stimpacs. I couldn't heal my friend with stims, only Bacta. I don't see a limit on how many uses the Bacta has, so I guess it's unlimited. So what are stims used for now?

If you answer this, look at how the game was in the year it was released, to see why I'm confused by the changes. I just don't see them explained well, I suppose because anyone who is a long time veteran already knows all of this.

Ok, I think I found the information I was looking for. What confused me I guess, was that the Prima Guide for The Total Experience wasn't using the new Combat Update, although it was included in the book.

Master Marksman was required during Beta but when the game went live we only need ranged support.

Those PRIMA guides are useless for a game like this that changes constantly. They will have some useful info but nothing that you cant find on the internet for free with a little google searching or hitting up the right places.

I bought the old one when I first started SWG an eon ago and its so useless. I guess it was good then because things didnt change as much and as fast as things do these days. I suggest checking out sites like warcry stratics and alakazam (sp?). They have all the info you could need and it stays relatively up to date because its on the web instead of being permanent in print.

Hehe! I bought the prima guide right when the game came out. I was right in the middle of college/athletics/marraige and knew I'd be an instant addict. I studied that guide for a year before I started playing and new it inside and out....then spent the next two months unlearning what I learned!!!
