I believe the proposed 150 item limit on vendors, is the fix to the vendor/bazaar databace problems.

They are re-writing the bazaar/vendor database code apparently (from JustG's post about it during a problem last week) that coupled with the reduction of items for sale is their plan for reducing the lag.


A lot of us wish they would consider increased stack size and other bulk selling methods to reduce the size even more. Its possible that there are technical challenges to that which we aren't aware of.

Here's my list, I'm trying for more positive than "Why can't...", get's the devs less defensive


1) Can we rename our vendors rather than destroying/recreating?


2) Can the servers initialize the planetary advertised vendors at startup? Or at least their waypoints? If not, why not?


3) Can we get an official SOE stance on the whole idea of players losing Merchant skill boxes but still benefitting from them? This includes a definition of the Vendors:+1 skill from Management as well as Planetary Registration from Advertising 3.


4) Are there plans to replace the 'duplicate' skill titles (Artisan:Business4 = Merchant:Efficiency4(?) = "Businessman")


5)Why are the Master Merchant Protocol Droid vendors silent and pink only? Don't 3P0 droids need special programming to stay quiet? ^_^


6) Are there plans to make the Master Merchant box more worthwhile? (whatever the max savings for 6 registered vendors per day - 1100cr? That's one 20-minute pair of Deliver missions a day) and a pink 3P0 who won't ad bark aren't what I'd consider a worthwhile investment for 6 skill points. Suggestions: +1 Vendor. Place Large Merchant Tent. Reposition activevendor. Place City Mall (new building type).


7) Is there a game engine restriction or design/intention restriction that precludes the idea of consignment sales and/or renting vendors to other players?


Everything else I could think of was "wish list" material I'm afraid.

Just one idea.


How about a Master Merchant gets a bonus to some Smuggler skills. Han Solo was a BUSINESSMAN, wasn't he?

I have been playing a Merchant with my character for only a few weeks. I tried to read other questions so I don't double the effort, but I suppose some redundancy won't hurt anyone right?


Here is my list, based on my observations with the profession so far. (Also, I have a pure combat alt, so I approach this as a valid customer as well)


1. Why can't we grant Admin rights to people we place vendors for?


2. Why can't we automate percentages based on items sold, so it's easier to determine your end of the sale?


3. Why can't Vendors at a certain level of Merchant, be it Master or what not, roam a specific area of the shop? Would a NPC vendor really stand in the same spot all day? Wouldn't it be cool if we could let them pace behind the "counter"? Would also stop them from facing the wrong direction all the time!


4. Why can't Vendors simply add "OUT OF STOCK" on the Planetary Map beside their names when they are in fact out of stock? (This is asking the impossible, and would never ever happen I am sure)


5. Why can't we (also at Master) have a Droid or NPC Vendor that we can let roam around a city fora day, even if the maintenence is astronomical? It would be a wonderful way to add value to the game, as well as add value to Player Cities and NPC Cities alike. They would certainly come alive. Last time I checked, there were a ton more vendors than just junnk vendors in what should be a "bustling" Metropolis like Mos Eisley.


6. Why can't we have Classifieds Terminals? Marketing 101! Allow players to list their wares (in drop down list box items to avoid foolish entries) which will allow a player to compare prices, see stock, all without travelling only to be let down when they arrive?


I can think of more. Plenty more. I apologize if some of these are unrealistic, impossible, or downright pipe dreams.

I am Probably too late for this one to have any impact...but i didn't see these questions...


1. If i have 3 Vendors on one planet, why cant they be listed by vendor name or a more precise location, instead of "Naboo, Naboo" and "Tatooine, Tatooine" for all of them?


2. Why does the price indictated on the"price paid"include city taxes when i want to resell an item that ran out of time or on an offer?


3. Would a crafting tool with client list, calculator, and inventory manager be possible to make the career more effcient and enjoyable?


I mean the Mollusk tool is great, but i haven't seen any content or additions made to this career since the first "state of the merchant post" made in July, only vendor bug fixes.

1. Why can I not have the word, "Architect" on my vendor, but other craft names are fine.

2. Can we have admin delegation on vendors, please? Would really help with managing different planets since some of us do not have 6 more hours a day to play the game.

3. Renaming is desired. Also REDEEDING. I hate deleting a really good vendor considering at Master Merchant it still takes me over an hour to get a human vendor that doesn't look like it has leprosy.

4. At least for the player races, can we get total control of their appearance, please? I would actually pay big bucks in game if there was a specialist that made vendors which I could rename later. Go anyway you want on this for an answer please. Hiring a Master ID to change my vendors would make me estatic!

5. Can u devise a way to delete a piece of clothing without me having to put something else on the vendor?

6. Maybe my rant but lower the requirements for Merchant Tents so there's actually some progression to the efficiency tree. I would prefer Efficiency 1 or Novice for tent placement, personally.

7. Why does the bazaar exist? We pay skill points to do whatthose that don'tget for free. Can you make the bazaar a LOT MORE EXPENSIVE for non-merchants so they actually use us?

8. Which leads into consignment sales. Why can we not do consignment sales. The person places the item to sale for a price, we turn it on in the vendor and add a fee to it for us. Pretty simple in theory.

9. Can you stack resources to 1,000,000 units and all crates to 100? Also make crates restack like resources currently do. This would reduce my storage by 75% last time I checked.

10. Why don't the categories on the world map reflect what we sell? Architect, for instance, has no harvestor categories. If space is a problem can't we just change the things to say Architect, Artisan, Bio Engineer, etc...???
