I believe the proposed 150 item limit on vendors, is the fix to the vendor/bazaar databace problems.
They are re-writing the bazaar/vendor database code apparently (from JustG's post about it during a problem last week) that coupled with the reduction of items for sale is their plan for reducing the lag.
A lot of us wish they would consider increased stack size and other bulk selling methods to reduce the size even more. Its possible that there are technical challenges to that which we aren't aware of.
Here's my list, I'm trying for more positive than "Why can't...", get's the devs less defensive ![]()
1) Can we rename our vendors rather than destroying/recreating?
2) Can the servers initialize the planetary advertised vendors at startup? Or at least their waypoints? If not, why not?
3) Can we get an official SOE stance on the whole idea of players losing Merchant skill boxes but still benefitting from them? This includes a definition of the Vendors:+1 skill from Management as well as Planetary Registration from Advertising 3.
4) Are there plans to replace the 'duplicate' skill titles (Artisan:Business4 = Merchant:Efficiency4(?) = "Businessman")
5)Why are the Master Merchant Protocol Droid vendors silent and pink only? Don't 3P0 droids need special programming to stay quiet? ^_^
6) Are there plans to make the Master Merchant box more worthwhile? (whatever the max savings for 6 registered vendors per day - 1100cr? That's one 20-minute pair of Deliver missions a day) and a pink 3P0 who won't ad bark aren't what I'd consider a worthwhile investment for 6 skill points. Suggestions: +1 Vendor. Place Large Merchant Tent. Reposition activevendor. Place City Mall (new building type).
7) Is there a game engine restriction or design/intention restriction that precludes the idea of consignment sales and/or renting vendors to other players?
