Some of the responses make me think you guys see me as being all ready to jump up and cheer every bit of code the Devs send down, and for those who've seen me around here for a long time... well you know me better then that already.

The one reason why I deleted the lengthy post I had originally meant as a reply, and went instead with the basic question for clarification

Z, I understand what you are saying, I just simply have zero trust in them to balance 500 some template combos when they cannot get 15 right.

Well, that's where I think you may have an improper basic assumption. That being that they have been traying to balance 15 "templates", in the form of professions, all along. I'd rather contend they've been looking more at broader templates this whole time. So if you assume they are trying to balance profession X against profession Y, then you'd probably be about right that success is closer to the bottom levels. Compared to templates, however... well there's certianly been some floundering but a lot of that flondering all seems to point back to the combat balance.

The funny thing is that a lot of issues that are part of that balance have long been many of the things we talked about back in Beta, such as the overpowering importance of mind damage. So in many ways these are exactly the things we've been saying all along, and it is those things that I think the CB seems likely to be pretty capable of addressing. That's why I think we'll finally be getting a better groundwork laid to better address overall balance issues. We'll just have to see how it really turns out though, obviously.

Now the length of time it's been taken to get a lot of these things done, however... :rolls eyes:

So much for that vaunted modularity of SWG code making things easier.
