EXP is greater than money in the game.

On many servers on populated planets there is already huge competition in med center between medics, especially when there is Doctor there who can heal wounds really fast.

Charging for healing just means you will not get any exp, if you need money - go on a destroy missions in groups - they pay much better than solo missions, exp is awesome for both combat players and medics and it's much more fun, that's what mMorpg (multiplayer) suppose to be about - grouping.

Great story....thats the way it should be. I had a guy in the med center last night I was healing and he was hurt pretty bad. Another guy came in and dropped me 500C and asked if I could heal him. I stood up, turned to the guy paying me and started healing him. The other guy I stopped healing got pissed I stopped and was like..."Hey I was here first". I told him "You are now second in line, I have a paying customer here"

> Not if you are like me and had to pay the NPC for all your training.

I payed for 2 level 1 boxes, 2 lvl 2 boxes just on the CM itself.
You grab a friend, PA teammate, marksman LFG outside med center, faction pet (those puppies bring in so much med exp it's SICK!)
You go to a terminal and take 2 most expensive destroy missions (4 if you are with a groupmate), since you are Combat Medic - you bound to have specialist in one of the weapon branches (unless for some mistirious reason you untrained them), make sure you hold that weapon in your hand and each mission will be 1500 - 2000c (we'll take 1500 as example).

You do the missions. You get medical exp (healing your groupmate), your buddy racks up excellent combat exp, you get 3000c. It should not take you more then 15 minutes.
Repeat it 8 times (2 hours) now you have 24000 - enough to train 3 lvl 3
skills or all 4 lvl 1 skills.

Now you got 4000-5000 medical exp (assuming your buddy was not master TKA killing everything in one shot), a friend who will gladly group with you at anytime (especially if it was faction-perk friend ) , some hides/bones/meat for your crafting (scouting will be last skill I drop), had fun practising COMBAT medic skills and payed for your skills.

Beats whining about not getting any tips in med center ANY day of the week.

My point is, medics out doing missions are medics that arent in the med center to heal wounds. Tipping them helps insure they will be there when you need them. And for the record, I bought all but 2 of my Doctor boxes including Master and all of my combat medic boxes so far.

> My point is, medics out doing missions are medics that arent in the med center to heal wounds.

My point is:
You need safe exp - go to med center.
You need exp and money - go do missions.
You need better exp with a risk - go with big hunting party.

Reward is propotional to risk (and effort) you taking.
You want (and some people actually demand!) no risk and both exp and money reward, but realise that many medics will settle for just exp reward.

> Tipping them helps insure they will be there when you need them.

Medics get exp by healing people, that insures that they are in med center, not tipping.

More and more people start playing game : both medics and non-medics so balance is kept there.
More and more people becoming experienced doctors BUT wounds are staying the same (TKA master on average has same wounds as novice marksman) if not dropping due to the fact that people get better with their characters, get money to clone all the time etc.

So the pool of available exp grows thinner by the day for novice medics and even novice combat medics/doctors.

At first week of servers up there were LINES of people in med center for 2-3 medics healing as fast as they could.
Now you walk in med center - 2-3 medics there will heal you faster then you can type "can I get a heal please", one of them is doctor, and the other 2 wishing quetly for him to go away so they can get some exp.

Here is something to ponder about:

that is an interesting thing, the medic guy paying people to let him teach. what that shows more than anything is poor management. there is plenty of time that he could have been teaching people for free and whatever but instead he waited until he finally needed it to go ahead and get it.

ok what i feal abotu the whole fee to heal thing is this: it takes time and resources to heal wounds. those resources are not free. if an architect builds a house to get xp should he give his house away to whatever newbies he crosses? no, he sells it. it took him resources and time to build that house just asit takes reources and time to build medpacks. the same analogy can be applied to to healing and weaponsmith, or healing and armorsmith. all these professions are crafting professions yet medic is the only one expected to not get payed. (if someone wants to mention /tendwound health/action/etc...no, that is not how you get xp, you get much better xp and use less mind by using medpacks, this especially becomes true when you start using medpack b's). i think that people should pay medics to get healed. wil this happen? no. simply because medpacks and what not are thought of as somewhat expendable since it doesnt take that much time to make. but what is being missed is that it takes 30 or so medpacks to get the same xp that lets say an architect would get off of one house. im not saying that medics should be charging the same amount as say for a house, of course not, but it shouldn't be free either.

this for the time being won't change, probably won't until medics start mastering thier advanced skills of doctor or combat medic. the person that insists on charging before heal at this point will be the guy that still has the title novice medic since he won't find nearly as many people to get xp off of. hell, i was going into the middle of town with my medical droid when i was trying to master medic right after i finally got ranged weapon support specialist.

> the medic guy paying people to let him teach. what that shows more than anything is poor management

Nope, it shows a sign of things to come.

Here is math prove it: in ideal conditions for starting professions only, people not hoarding exp and splitting all training equaly:

For one fully mastered profession group of n people will get:
(450/n * (n-1)) = 450-450/n exp points for maximum of 450 for infinite n.
From this formula you see that to reach 620 EVERYONE will need to become specialist in 2 more lines, then there will be enough exp, that's in IDEAL conditions (means everyone teaches everyone else).
People who hoard exp (by training over cap) and people who buy skills reduce this number even more which is what you see.

There are only 3 ways to resolve the problem:
- Team up with (n) new people, where (n) is very high (400 or so) and teach each other in ideal conditions (which is what happened with people who started earlier)
- Use FPs (I am not sure if that is fixed though)
- Pair up with friend and use detrain (that one is the most relaible and slowlest at the same time)

If you don't have access to one of those 3 ways (and people who start now do not) - you will have to go out of the way to get apr. exp.

Hmm last game I played I was a healer. I was expected to heal for free because it only took the effort to press the button.

Yeah Right. The fact that since I took the most powerful healing skill which I could not even use on myself at the cost of a lot of others skills to train it.

Point in fact it is more then just clicking on a button.

It is game time If I decide to spend time in a clinic I should be tipped. I have a very good group that I can heal in camps and get exp and cash. i'm trained right now in a lot of different things so for now I'm self sufficent.

Healing should not be free. It does not apply to groups or PA's they pay by supporting me.

Every RPG that I've ever played it costs to get healed. This is a basic premise yet if it is a real person that puts real time into it they don't deserve to get paid.

I've spent a whole lot of time removing these death penalties in game where I was trying to be nice and spent a lot of time trying to help people out. Then not getting tipped.

I don't charge up front either but I want to get paid for the time.

As far as the exp hey even medical interns get paied.

Um, guys... re-read Mapl3's post. He charges for *prefered* treatment, not treatment.

He makes mention that he would have healed the person in question(provided he got paid) had he not started yelling and stuff as soon as he was done with another player who had paid him. No where is there any indication that he would not heal for free, merely that people who don't pay go the back of the line.

I can understand your complaints about his actions towards the player, but the numerous attacks involving charging for services are completely unfounded. He wasn't doing what many of you are implying. If you'd like to argue that healing people who pay you before you heal people who don't is somehow wrong I'd like to hear your reasons.

> Um, guys... re-read Mapl3's post. He charges for *prefered* treatment, not treatment.

Reread it, after guy refused to pay , not only he denied healing, but then he bullied all other medics into denying him service as well.

Fortunetly this is a thing of the past, now even in a places like Lok medics compete like mad for medcial exp and heal for free.
