Thread: +1 kills this profession... And all the people who complained about poison forgot 1 thing...!

But, come on guys, quit crying nerf against other professions and worry about trying to get things changed. U don't see bh's complaining (even before this nerf) about that poison damage. (except the rare bad apple)
Tyresus, Qg7,Tranced, Zubzai, Jave, Bins, StringareDomani....that's alot of bad apples there.
But I have also seen another bh on this forum saying that it was wrong what they did.(nerf)
Even so the whiner masses have spoken and we have been nerfed. Shrug yall got yer wish. Rest assured you will be begging for a DB once you see the diseases we are preparing.
I want you all to remember how long it took you to even be able to USE the C class poisons and diseases. To even get the AOE class C stuff you HAVE TO MASTER THE COMBAT MEDIC PROFESSION!
Did you know a Novice Commando can use a flamethrower? and of course flames don't kill right?
Being a support class is 1/2 of what we do the other 1/2 is the difference we make in combat!
Oh yeah, my enemies will be shivering knowing thay might only have 1 point left when they engage me.
All the devs did was pi55 me off and turn me into a griefing machine! I intend to get my scouting back and accumulate as much insect meat as possible and start diseasing EVERYONE I encounter in PVP. Hope the new entertainers and medics enjoy the XP I am about to send them!
Kumi I am right there with ya.
I will not be poisoning any more, i will be using diesease. So have fun with what you made us.
And to the BH's with the "i spent more skill points i should be uber" , what about us, CM have the second highest skill point cost. (maybe third but i think it is second right behind bh) Why should we not get anything for the skill points we have to spend.
But anyway to those who wanted this nerf to happen, i hope you enjoy the inside of a Cantina and Hospital, because i will not be experimenting on range for my diesease, i will make it as potent as possible and yes i will be throwing at all the of your stats
So when you kill me (which you will have no problem doing) just remember that you mad this monster when you watch your bars turn black

Please don't refer to y'all when I clearly stated that I did not want this to happen! Please read more carefully!
There are much more bh's out there that do not care to call nerf out there on CM's than those few that u listed.
And just to answer to your comment, I will never beg for a DB over a disease, it's just a game.

I listed more than a few of your stubborn asshat BH whiner brothers. I have several friends who are BHs and they never complain about CMs. I know theres a large community of BHs out there who did not care to support this nerf. However, very few of you supported it's opposition either. But don't worry you aren't alone. Plenty of other classes felt we should be nerfed including Doctors, which I also am.

No worries if you don't want the DB, I'll just let yall be some newbie medic's XP farm in the medical center. One way or another the CMs will gain an advantage off this in the long run.
it's just a game.
If it's just a game then why did a BH start this whole mess? Because he was getting pwned in PVP that's why.
What else brought this on? Incap Dance, SOE could've done a better job to fix this issue by listening to many of the great suggestions provided by players but they went for the easy "fix".
,,i,, you nerf whiners and ,,i,, SOE...
My experience with PvP after the patch...
Last night I was leaving Bestine with a TEF flag. A guy with the novice creature handler tag followed me. He sent his Greater Sludge Panther (GSP) after me and started shooting. I nailed him with an AoE mind Poison, and hit the cat with a Health poison (it was out of the AoE mind area). The guy stacks some Bleeds on me while I kite him, the panter chewing away at my 80% kinetic resist composite. I applied first aid for the bleeds (they vanished in one application-very nice!), ran over a hill which broke line of site with the guy and started working his GSP with body shot1 (I only have pistol 2 atm). The guy comes over the rise, I plink him with my meager body shot1 (wasn't thinking, I should have just shot him to get a chance at good mind damage), and low an behold he dropped incapped to the ground. I ran over and DB'd him and proceeded to kill his cat. I finished this fight with half my 1000 mind left and no visible damage to my health or action pools (damage hidden by buffs).
Now, it would have been nice if the poison had incapped the guy-- it would even be realistic! But the point is that we can still function well even with the +1 nerf. I mean if a girl with pistol 2 can do a body shot 1 and still manage to do between 1-10 points of mind damage with it do to the trickle over effect I'd say that we aren't doing as bad as everyone thinks. The change definately nerfs us in a way that makes it much more risky that just walking up to an incapped body and DBing them; but in lieu of the recent decay changes I think that this is acceptable.
As for PvE, all I can say is that I get fewer resists now that all the poisons I make are using all advanced components. I'd venture to say that I am more effective in PvE now than I was before.
So in short....
+1 a nerf? YES!
Does it ruin the class? NO!
Does it require an adjustment to how you play? YES!
and most importantly... are you still having fun? I am...
Wow. A nerf-TKA call in a CM thread. Huh?
Here's how you take down a TKA as a CM--poison/disease and KITE! Works for any melee class. A TKA will have to sit and meditate for a time to get rid of whatever you hit them with...sitting targets. If you don't have a gun, then you don't have any offensive skills, and of course an elitecombat class should take you out. Also, you need the 4th skill box to meditate wounds, so a3 / x / x / x TKA is going down from a disease, period.
Irulual, you need to keep in mind that CMs ARE a combat support class, like it or not. If you can't poison and stay out of range, why would you expect to be able to beat ANY elite combat class? Maybe you don't get the glory of the kill, but i think pounding on the HAMs of a whole group of people is a great and useful skill. But the Support part of that means that you're not going to be a spectacular solo player (or PVPer).
Anyway, this response was directed solely at Irulual, who apparently has PvP'd against and lost to one too many 14-year old TKAs.
The rest of this post has been informative, and I really didn't have an opinion either way. I wouldn't have guessed that it was such a difficulty to take out a person with 1 HAM point, butyou seem to be saying that CM's won't live long enough to get that chance, so the suicide-poisoners' tactic is an important one. I suppose every classfeels that they should be viable in PVP. Butmy "Ranger" support-class skills don't do anything in PVP, and if that ever changes, will stillnot put a Ranger on equal footingwith anyelite combat profession. I guess what I'm trying to saying is that maybe a CMshouldn't expect to be able to take out anyone, 1-on-1. You can do damage to groups.
Another comment: I frankly don't see why CM's WOULD'NT disease like crazy in PVP. (Maybe there are cost issues or differences in effectiveness between diseases vs poisons--I don't know.) Isn't that the best way to take down and keep down the enemy (make em sit in the cantina or remove any ability to do specials)? As part of a group, I'd love to have a CM hose the whole enemy force so I had less to deal with when I got to them. Why are you being considerate to the people who are trying to deathblow you?
Well, I hadn't whined for a good couple hours, so there's my thoughts...
Like I've said time and time again, TKA is the profession the Devs cater to the most, and probably the biggest group of whiners as well.
Want to know the reason CM got nerfed? It's one of two classes that can actually take down a TKA. Commandos however, are not nearly as effective against TKAs as CMs are. Make a 320 effective Mind C, and the TKA goes down whether he wins or not.
That is why we got nerfed. Well, since we have no weapon that can kill any longer, can we get a nice CM version of Force of Wills? Speaking of, that seems to be one of the big TKA complaints as of late, "Force of Wills should always work once every 15 minutes". Don't give me that.
In addition to that, has anyone else noticed that /applypoison seems to be failing quite a bit more frequently now? I wanted to test the range, which hasn't changed by the way, and I did so on an utter newb buddy of mine. Five applications in a row he resisted. FIVE! How the heck is that possible against a guy that barely has Rifle 2 and Explor 3? Can you explain that? I sure as hell can't.
I animately refuse to go TKA, just for sheer self-respect. Want a cry for NERF? Hows this:
NERF TKAs! Cheesiest class in SWG. At least if a Jedi whoops me, I can live with it. I can't beat a single TKA that has 0,2,4,0 PERIOD! When are we going to see that nerf?
Well, you got part of it right, TKA's do whine quite abit; and, to be perfectly honest, I left that profession for combat medic. I've found that if you actually PLAY the class that you will better understand it's weaknesses. I also know that in MMORPGs that the last thing ANY player should do is call for a nerf on another player class/profession. I totally understand someones frustration when dealing certain aspects of the game like resisted poisons, TKA pinning you on the ground with no hope of recovery, poisons not incapping; but the fact of the matter is one of two things: you don't understand the mechanics of the game OR you fail to adapt to changing conditions of the game.
==Mechanics==
The first poisons I made were always resisted. I had know idea what I was doing. Once I realized what potency was for and recrafted my meds I've had ZERO resists.
==Adaptability==
A TK will take you if you are within 10m-- I know, I used to be one. If you don't want your face turned to jelly, STAY AWAY from anyone you suspect to be a TK. If you get challenged to a duel, don't accept until you are far enough away to avoid a lunge dizzy combo. Let common sense prevail and stop complaining.
This class is far from nerfed. I can solo the same mobs I did when I was Master TK/Master Doc (albeit slower) and can now solo some that I couldn't before. I'm sure others have said this in many other places on the board in several different forums but I guess it warrents saying again-- LEARN TO PLAY THE GAME
I believe they did fix the xp problem. If I solo a group of storm troopers by applying poison, running and coming back to finish them off I can get about 800 combat xp per st and 200-300 carb xp. Also if i watch others do battle and ocassionally toss them a heal i get combat xp. If I attack NPC's while covert with a poison they immediatly attack me. I don't know what you folks have been doing but thats what happens to me now.

to Gnuut:
"As far as doing a piddly amount of damage goes, my primary skills are in poisons diseases and healing. Why shouldn't I be able to incap using my primary skills."
well, let's think about this. musicins and dancers are good at what they do: entertaining and healing mind. scouts and rangers are good at what they do: negotiating land and having skills to coexist in the wilderness. combat classes are good at what they do: killing people. cm and doc are good at what they do: healing, one in town, one in combat.
