Thread: Solo Ancient Krayts?

How do you guys keep the Ancient Krayt from retreating? I usually get the beasts down to about 70-80% health, then they just run off and regen. I end up having to start all over again.

I must not be good or something cause im MCM/MBH/ 0/0/0/4 pistols and i cant even bring a Giant dune kimo down by myself due to the SOLO fact that my mind doesnt regain fast enough.


I have no idea how you all solo this stuff without your mind going to crap after about 6 heals. Please share with the rest of us what the strategie is..... PLEASE!!

The important thing about soloing high level melee mobs with CM is to avoid getting hit as MCM has pretty low defences.


Run into 10m of the Ancient and hit Paralyze then Electrolyte Drain and run out of range, or just drain and run. Paralyze is useful to get around the client/server lag that reports the krayt as being somewhere else other than where you see it.


Take a note of where the krayt spawned, either /way the krayt or just remember where it spawned and dont lead it more then 120m away from there as it will retreat.


Lead it around in a circle, staying out of 10m range and blast it and reapply the drain when it has about 30 seconds left (mouse over the icon to see the time remaining).


You can run into 11m of the krayt and step to 10m, hit drain then run back out and not get hit most of the time, if you do, use StimD to heal as it's quicker than any other heals.


Use Fire and Poison DoT's to negate the regen and a low SAC, high damageweapon to give it a good blasting.

See, this is the problem ...



I do hit them with electrolyte drain and they dont seem to be moving any slower. there always right up on me, attacking me.


But then again i think my toon was bugged the day i created it . lol .

OH....almost forgot!


I was able to solo a Giant dune kimo just after the first post of mine. Unfortunatly i had to lure it to nearby lairs and have the creatures there tank it for me. lol

Client/Server lag causes the Krayt to be somewhere else rather than where it appears to be on your client.


Witha bit of practice you will get used to this.


If in doubt, keep running.

basically what i do im MBH/MCM/0400 carbineer, i first open up with a knockdown then i apply paralyze followed by electrolyte drain then i get to 35m and apply poison/fire, after that i kite him and applying the carbineer snare along with the electrolyte drain to make the krayt basically walk towards me. When electrolyte drain is almost finished, i run in to about 25m and hit him with a knockdown and then proceed by getting in under 10m and applying an electryolyte drain, and i just repeat this till he's dead. When he's knockdowned he can't hit you so thats when its safe to apply the drain. Hope that helps

It's not possible to get ticks that high, I can solo Ancients with MCM/Mpistols and x/x/x/4 Doc... I think my current record stands at seven minutes flat.
