Do squad leader do damage? No. Are they a combat class? Yes.

There is more to combat than doing damage.

Squad Leader requires Marksman, which means that they had to hold a gun in their hand to get there. Which means they had to use that gun to get the experience to get to their class, meaning they had to deal damage just to get there.

The "Strategy" line in Squad Leader is dedicated to improving aim and damage of previously mentioned gun.

There is more to combat then doing damage, but the point of a COMBAT CLASS. A class that has the ability to fight has the ability to do damage.

A Doctor does not have any capacities to do damage that are granted by its class or prerequisites. Neither does a Musician or Dancer, these would be examples of Pure Support classes.

and I can master combat medic without ever firing a gun, throwing a poison or disease.

Dancer, entertainer, doctors, etc all have their roles in combat situations.

There is more to combat than just dealing damage.

Yes you can do it without firing a gun, but you need over 30k of Combat XP to get novice, so you have to fight sometime.

Is that why your tag says "Master Doctor/Teras Kasi Master"?

Or do you mean you used to be a combat medic but you gave it up for Doctor?

If that is so, it's undoubtedly because you realized that Doctor gives you more skills, more demand in groups, and more money, all for less skill points, isn't it?

Anyone else who isn't or never was a combat medic like to step up and claim that they are... just to put a false certificate of authority on their post when they open their yap and scream out that they feel their class is too powerfull and want to nerf themselves?

Also, to everyone who dissagreed with the reasoning behind my origional post, I say your counter reasoning is invalid because you never explained why my points were or were not justified, meaning I have to assume, that they were justified and you couldn't debate them so your just hoping that by not mentioning them and straying off the subject, they will not be considered by readers reading your posts.

So ya, if a master dancer gets +bonuses to melee defence, a master combat medic should definately get something as well.

I could see it happening but only if they would change the support tree to be based off combat xp instead of medical xp.

i think all dots are capped at 1 now. slek man i don't know what you are complaining about, your dots are good =). i've seen them in action many times. but poison then run outta radar range waiting for rebels to get incapped is a little cheap no? maybe im not the one to talk since im master de and pretty soon master pistoleer but as far as i can tell they are both more gimpish than master cm hahaha. not looking to fight with you or anything, just my 2 cents.

Daffid.... You're still missing the difference between a COMBAT class, one that has the ability to deal damage. And a SUPPORT class, one that doesn't. This doesn't mean that the support classes don't have their places in combat (healing, decoys, etc.) but it does mean that their class wasn't designed to make combat.

Its pretty hard to make combat with someone if you have no capability of fighting them.

Noodle,

I fully understand the difference between support and combat roles and who goes where. What I disagree with it the mothodology of justifing certain actions because of what experience type is required to advance a profession or by using professions names (master/block 4 of a tree) as the same. I may be having a little trouble getting that across, sorry.

Combat Medic needs some kind of defensive bonuses!! Why? Because of all the nerfing wehave been hit with!

We got royally screwed with the +1 HAM cap, which forces to remain within the combat range and fight with a gun, just like every other pure combat class.

We got screwed with the new 48m exp. cap and 64m max range cap for throwing poisons, which forces us to fight mano elmano just like every other pure combat class.

Combat medic is being forced to fight the same way as every other pure combat class yet, our weapon (poison) is getting nerfed further and further so it barely resembles a weapon at all. If we are forced to fight in the same boat as every other pure combat class, then at least give us similar defensive bonuses (or offensive) that everyone else gets. Give combat medic dodge, or ranged and melee defence, or SOMETHING!!! ANYTHING!!!

Show me your rational well thought out idea where you present andebatableposition and people will support you or tell you why they don't. Don't assume your right because you cannot understand what people say to you in retort to a less than fact filled tantrum.

Posting "our weapon (poison) is getting nerfed further and further so it barely resembles a weapon at all." is not very objective is it when poisons are actually harder to resist, have longer base range, more charges and do more damage for the last two patches? Once all the crap is filtered past all you are saying is poisons are nerfed give me defenses, did I miss anything? Everyone gets nerfed, cope.

If you asked me, the CM class needs work in other areas to round the class out and not defenses (flavor of the month requests) to be a more complete profession. Settling for some ranged bonuses sprinkled in the trees would be selling the profession short.
