It should be fairly easy with pets.

Without pets? No chance

I disagree.

I personally took down a Krayt solo. Without Pets. i have Exploration 4 and MCM.

I would run within 42 meters (my max distance for health posion atm) and throw a poison when i hit 42 meters when I actually throw it i'm 50 meters away (animation lag). This very effectively make the dragon VERY angry and the chase starts. I run like heck and hit a Health Bleed right as I hit burst run. I usually have to run about 2-3 hundred meters before it finally breaks combat but with exploration 4 head for the hills up and down. It has pretty good TN but if you keep dodging behind rocks it will lose sight of you hopefully long enough for it to give up.

I then keep it targeted and stay at least 80 meters away and set up camp once it lays down. I rest and wait for my burst run to come back. Usually by this time the bleed and posion has worn off. (and with luck it will have taken 4k of health damage) Rinse off the swear of your palms and keyboard, get set and do it again. Repeat til dead. (hehe you or it)

Probelms arise when:

There are greedy partys in the valley with Grauls. (so circle the dragon every now and again and keep a look out for claim jumpers).

You get too close an die because that dragon will squash you. (furthest I've been standing when I got killed by the dragon was 48meters) (1 hit for 1182 points of damage killed me who was armorless)

More aggs spawn as you are preforming a drive by. (especially another krayt)

I was useing an area (stupid me left my singles at home) but it took me 4 passes to off it. (and because of the bleeds I had claim to loot it) (nothing was there ) (but the harvest was good max scout exp.)

Here is another tactic. I use my dewback to solo anything. Send in the pet, once it hits the monster, throw a poison, bleed and peace out. Stay within 70m but not within 50m. Your pet will incap of course, so wait for the poison to finish. Throw a ranged stim and the monster will aggro your pet. Throw a poison, bleed and peace before it incaps you pet. It will never aggro you and will die in a fair amount of time, so long as youonly attack it while your petis attacking it. Make sure to have 90+ Potency poisons, those work great.
