Thread: ADV Bacta toss vs Bacta shot
Not to only state problems, I give a solution: takethe ranged proffessionsfor an example
ranged shot is equivalent to bacta shot both have a factor of X 1
Advanced spray should have a factor of 1.2
Advaced bactatoss should have a factor of 1.5
Advanced bacta jab (doc) should have a factor of 1.9
These are the fan shot, rapid fire, and head shot factors
so if the base heal is 800. (sounds about right)
bacta shot would heal for 800
bacta spray would heal for 960
bacta toss would heal for 1200
bacta jab would heal for 1520
It's worth considering however, that as an MCM, you have access to many more abilities than a novice has, and the role is Combat Medic. Not Healer. So while healing may not change by more than 17%, there are other advantages to attaining Master.

Still, the values now are not much different than those pre-Publish 21. A person who invests in either CM or Doctor still can get a low-SP-cost heal for over 1000points. For CMs it's at 0 cost, for Doctors it's at 5 points. What is the point of Improved Bacta Shot or Toss, if you can get a 1000 point heal without having to invest in Novice CM or Novice Doctor? Even with Center of Being the Improved version over the Standard version is a 100% increase in potency.
I agree with you, the gains you get from not onybeing novice but even at MCM or MDocare minimal at best compared to what you can heal for with a line in medic branch and + 25 tapes.
With +25 healing tapes a MCM can advance bacta toss for 1174.
With one line in medic and +25 tapes you can still bacashot foraround 1000.
So what being a master cm amounts to is an extra174 in heals. or a 17% gain in healing ability.
Thisis even at master lvl and using up 63 skill points for it.
Highlighted what I stated 1 line in med not just novice... also if just novice, and nothing else at all, heals for 700 that seems like a pretty good heal.

actually that's where your wrong and i'm very annoyed i used to heal 900+ with my +25heal efficiency and novice medic and now it's down to 700's and 200pt drop hurt's alot it really does![]()
The role of CM is not healer... umm yes it is
Combat Medic
Primary Role: Medical Combatant
Secondary Role: Combat Healing
Offense: Strong (4)
Defense: Weak (2)
Crowd Control: Moderate (3)
Combat Medics are the natural progression of Medics into the combat field. Their medical expertise turned to the goal of eliminating the enemy culminated in the creation of powerful medical weaponry that can quickly leave opponents crippled and powerless. They also have the ability to competently heal their allies while in the thick of battle.
Combat Medics will retain their healing abilities but they will always be secondary to the capabilities of a Doctor.
I agree with you that the should not heal like a doctor, however having a player with novice medic and no CM or Doctor skills heal for 17% less then a MCM is a bit of an insult.
Now imagine if I said a novice brawler with 1 line in unarmed should be able to do only 17 % less unarmed damage than a MTKA... give me a break.
Lets just say that a master tka can melee attackunarmed and with no weapon for 1174 ... so what you are telling me is that it would be fair if a novice brawler could unarm strike using only melee attack and no weapon for 1000 damage.
Yes there is more to MTKA then striking, just like there is more to CM then healing. but to let a novice brawler hit for 1000 damage is not right... to let a novice medic heal for 1000 would be the same comparson.

The net effect is that heal amounts for the Improved and standard versions of the heals have been reduced compared to the Publish 19 values for players with a Healing Efficiency greater than 5.

Id have to agree with this analogy perfictly. I have over 170 skill points in healing and related skills. I damn well better be good at it. Its frustrating that someone can spend 15-40 or so skill points and heal for just as well...And with so much more to put into offence.
