Thread: How do you make money at a CM?

If you are a master CM, master Doctor, then you shouldn't have problems... You can make the ever so popular stim Bs at competitive quality, and can make good components for those CMs that didn't take Doctor...

Other than that, as a CM, you *don't* make money...

Everything you need is a huge money sink... The amount of points needed for CM makes it so that keeping scout and artisan are not very viable methods at master....though you can get by while going up the trees....

Frankly, find yourself someone to group with and hit big pay missions... I suggest finding yourself a person with a high damage per second class, coupled with creature handler.... so probably something like commando/CH, or teras kasi/CH, or something....That's your best bet if you can't make the Doctor stuff...

Faction missions. I don't sell meds because I usually don't have enough money to buy the great resources. Now that I finally have a factory though I am working on making the stuff I need, but the resources have been slim pickings on Intrepid lately.

Seems that the Advanced Resources for all the Diseases/Poisons are missing on alot of servers.

Your greatest investment for doing any destroy mission is either a cowardly gurreck or a rock beetle. It tanks, you poison/shoot/heal. You should be able to solo most missions quite easily. Use those faction points and buy troopers to add to your firepower.

Question for those that suggest (as I have been doing) group missions on advanced planets. In a 6-8 person group, everyone selecting 2 missions, we spend about an hour and a half running around taking out creatures and their lairs. During that time, I'm burning about 50-75 charges of stims (ranged and normal), and 2-5 rez kit charges. I also take some damage to my weapon. My groupmates (the non CH's anyway) take weapon damage as well. At 10k per mission, we all end up with the same amount of cash (which is the same amount that we all would have gotten if we had solo'd identical missions and taken an hour and a half to complete them).

Do you get tipped for being the healer? Agree on a fixed amount/percentage ahead of time? Figure it as a cost of getting invited to that group? Write it off as the price for getting medical experience (even when healing pets)?

I don't want to be whiney or greedy, but it's just frustrating when Friday night, I spent my last credit on harvester maintenance, when every non-healer in the group hasn't actually expended resources to make those credits other than weapon decay.

It really sux but this game is not the most group friendly game out there. I tend to run missions on Endor to make creds. The best creds I have made isin a solid group of peeps that know what they are doing and just do it, not running aroud looking, not seeing what he can taim, not doing soo many other thinks that gets one pp killed and then 10-15 mintes of waiting for hit to catch up or doing the missions to give that peeps a split. I most consistant creds I make it to team up with a CH and go do missions. With less peeps in the group less goes wrong and the killing is much more consistant.

Dont get me wrong I love to group and do so andI like large groups and big game hunts. In the end though large grous are for fun and not for creds. /flashback of a 18 peps hunting party try'n to complete missions on Yavin, hours of deaths.

It is really really sad that in the current state of the game if you do not have a CL 20+ pet to tank then you have to find someone that does to complete the better paying missions and avoid large grouping time sinks.

I hear selling resources is good creds but as a CM I hord everyting I can , never can tell when its not there and how much you will use till it comes back.

Asking for a donation from the group is a good idea. Most people are acceptable to that. If they give you flak about it, make them run from the cloning center when they die or tell them that you will heal them when they are getting attacked and actually in danger of dieing from it. All those carbineers, BHs, etc that spam their special moves and expect their action pools to be immediately replenished or kept in good shape by a medic can go and heal themselves. Dont expect a donation, just mention it and then keep those people in mind for your next groupings.

Oh, and also move to Area stims. Saves you alot Mind and cash.

I used to be a Master CM and I made money two ways.

I had a Master Doctor friend make me some schematics so I could produce high powered stim-B's. I'd just throw a bunch of these on the bazaar whenever I'd get the chance for 1k each and then go hunting. They'd sell out in no time. Then I'd come back and put some more on the bazaar. Pretty easy money, as long as your B's are above 35 charges and 350 power.

Other times I'd go with groups and heal them with some area-c's. Most people were generous and would tip me, but not always. Even if I wasn't getting tipped directly I was getting part of the cut from the missions. Going to Endor or Dathomir would give 3-5k per mission in a small-medium sized group. Also with the new harvesting changes you can grab some meat off whatever you kill.

Currently I am a Master CM/Master Doctor. My friends love having me around as I really make the group much better. Also we can venture further from town without fear of someone getting sent to the cloning center. I now make money selling all different med supplies. My best sellers are still stim-b's and wound pack b's because of the 5 med use required for them, but D and E stims sell pretty well also. I get a LOT of requests for poisons, but my server has yet to see any yavinian fiberplast above 450OQ, and the best titanium alum is only 700OQ/300UT or so. Also unless I harvest it myself it's hard to find in large quantities so I usually end up turning down offers to make poisons. I refuse to make diseases however, since they are useless in PvE and will only be used in PvP for griefing. I also throw a handful of other things on my vendor/bazaar, including res kits, cure states/poison/disease, area-c (these are becoming more popular now that people see how good they are).

I make a decent living, not nearly as much as weaponsmiths of course, but I'm not complaining.

I team up with my BE friend and go to dantooine to sample kill Bols for money. Pretty safe and if they aggro, jsut warning shot them away. Oh, and on those mission, if you see other Bols around your mission objective, you have to kill them too....they aggro you even if it's not thier lair sometimes.

my main source of income is doing missions on Endor. i have a cpl high lvl CHfriends that will take me out on missions to to get money as well as cbt/ch/weapon xp. i just have to keep the pets healthy.

And even if they cant my business partner (Doc/CM) and i can go there and do most pubam missions with just 2 cowardly gurrecks (and a few AE C's or ranged D/E's). you just have to be very careful about it.

plus at 20-25k a mission you can make money pretty fast. With my CH friends we can do them easily within 30mins if we got them all in the same direction.

**if you dont already do it..unequip your weapons (doesnt work for TKA's) but this will cut the distance you have to go in half on planets like lok/endor/dant/dath without reducing the payout since the diff lvl is already 35-60...this will make the missions go faster overall**
