Thread: MCM = Master Begger?
There is a huge market for Adv. Part raw resources. I made the choice to use a combat profession to back up my MCM and I buy all my raw resources on the Bazaar for personal use normally at 6 cr./resource. If you want to be a crafting type MCM, get yourself a float of cash for some Medium or Heavies. Doing missions on Endor (as a healer) for upwards of 20k per should help you acheive this. Start collecting the good stuff when it rolls around then wait.
The stuff on the bazaar during that resource run will sell. After it's gone and people are clamouring for the resource you can put it on the bazaar at 5 to 6 credits. Take note of the people who buy it, add them to your friends list and offer them other deals.
Example: I would give my left arm for affordable Advanced parts so I don't have to run my own factory. If you keep stockpiling good items you can sell these to someone like me more affordable than people seem to want to on Lowca (I've had 40-120k quoted to me). By more affordable I mean 20-30k/Crate. Once you geta good loyal customer base, you should have no problems raking in the cash.
How I make my cash is to use my MCM to help me plow through missions. Combat Medics are a support unit and even solo you can use it to support your other talents. My bank balance hovers around 300k just on doing missions while grinding my pistoleer.
I make most of my money selling resources for adv comp.
tat fiber, lok wheat, dolovite iron (just spawned on our server!), even resources
that weaponsmiths need....
like Kirus said, i went up the doctor tree and got the ability to Revive.
i charge groups that are not in my guild 40+ for healing and rez and minor buffs.
i dont hunt, i just use ranged area stims, keeps everyone happy, usually they
will share meats with you as well.
i make my living primarily off of selling resources. i mine highest quality (of anything if i have the spare harvs) and sell for 3-10 cpu, depending. i have several mediums now but plan to upgrade to heavies asap.
hi,
I am a MCM on eclipse I am also 2-4-0-0 Doc 1-0-0-4 Artisan, novice pistoleer and how I make money is 2 ways:
1. I mine resources for myself and sell extra to other's, when there are no decent med resources in shift I will contact a few mall operators find out what they want and go get it. I stopped doing any type of solar or wind though, with eclipse power co. it works to be a better deal.
2. People pay me to disease their pets 1k or 2k credits. a pop and other than that if anyone asks me to go hunting with a party they all pay up front or they can go alone. the amount depends on how far I have to travel and what we are hunting.
I know it seems greedy but it's the only way I can make money while still enjoying the game.

Find a good group and charge them a fee up front. I was asking (and receiving) over 40k for going on a hunt with a group. After I gained the ability to revive, my fee went up considerably. If people expect you to do stuff for free, do it once for free, then stop. People will get the hint. The only people I do not do this too is my PA, as they are more then happy to provide me with resources, houses, armor, weapons, mounts, etc.
Good PA helps out too...

Wow, you get 40k to go on mission with a high level group. Do you know why they are willing to pay you that much? Let me burst your bubble. It's NOT becuase you are a MCM. It is soley because you can rez. That is it.
I have walked around Theed asking to join a group saying (an displaying) my title MASTER COMBAT MEDIC. Do you know what the first thing anyone tells me, or asks me? "Can you Rez?" That is all they care about. Yea area heal are nice but if you cannot rez you aren't that great. A high level group MUCH rather have a Doctor along with 0430 than a Master Combat Medic. Know why? Becuase at that level they can rez. AND at that level they can ALSO BUFF. Buff is at 0200 and rez is at 0400. So if you can rez you can also buff.
What can we do? hmm we can area heal? we can cure your mind? (oh wait that is at a cost to us so we can't do that that much) So we are still worthless. We have area heals that are nice. We have Posions that don't kill, we have dieases that are nerfed (at least on my server I cannot make a disease over 67 effectiveness with the best resources I have. Now that may change with time as resources come and go but this is all advanced components.
WAYS TO MAKE CREDITS.................
Mining resources is a way to do it.However, with that amount of time it takes to run around to each harvester, unless you are mining all the same resource at one time, OR have a HUGE some of money to start with to dump into the harvesters to keep them fed for a week or so, it is not worth it. I Mined for a bit and I found myself spending more credits on running around to the different harvesters and feeding them then what I was making on the bazaar. Plus I needed to run the harvesters for MY resources 6 of which are world specific.
Pimping yourself out is always an option. Looking for a group that will give you credits to hunt with them and keep you healed. I would not expect the 40k that Kirus got but 20-28k is about the average. Another way to do this is charge per stim used. I have done this in the past. charging 2k per stim used which would heal 868 base (1736 for MCM) and had 40 charges.
Get yourself in a PA/Guild and group with the combat members for high level missions. this payout pretty well.
Charge a Mayor credits to place and maintain a Hospital. (I am going to start a thread about how useless this addition was)
Make friends with a Smuggler and when he isn't paying attention get him to make a scematic for 1000 moun gold spices. I had a friend that was in my PA that got fed up with the game and quit but before he went he made me 3 scematics of 1k units each. I sell these on the bazaar for 1300 credits each. So 1300*1000=1 rich MCM.
Here is a good one. With the addition of force (EVERYTHING) there are alot of HOLO professions in the game. (ie people who are just trying to get to master of the profession so they can drop all the skills and do whatever that little box tells them to) (ie trained monkeys) But anyhow, Just make crappy ranged/areas by the crate and well them as grinding stims. I have done this and make about 10k a crate of 50 area As. I only use basic components made with whatever the cheap resources on the bazaar are at that time.
Sit in the Hospital and ask medics for a kickback on their tips for keeping their mind healed (never did this but just thought of it?) (of course hopfully you make enough so you still have a profit after tipping the enteratiner for curing you mind wounds :>![]()
Grind really good stim Bs and/or Cs and sell on the bazaar for 500-1500 each. You'd be suprised on how many people HATE crafting and are willing to buy them.
Get business 3 and start a CM vendor. (CMs are worse than Medics when it comes to hate crafting)
THAT IS ALL I CAN THINK OF FOR NOW.
People pay me to disease their pets 1k or 2k credits. a pop and other than that if anyone asks me to go hunting with a party they all pay up front or they can go alone. the amount depends on how far I have to travel and what we are hunting.
This is not worth it anymore. Since you no longer get experience for healing pet wounds. And if you DO. Don't post here that you do because according to the patch notes for this past patch that was suppose to be "FIXED". (ie no longer get exp for healing pet wounds)
I haven't had any money problems since reaching MCM.In fact I was dead broke in this game until I reached both Master Surgeon and MCM. My account hovers around 1 million (give or take about 300k)or so and I don't harvest or mine anything. I tried the harvester game once and I hated it and never looked back.
Granted my rez skill is very useful but most groups after doing one run with me want me at their sides again. I don't need to use rez often because I keep them all up and fighting. That MCM title should get you groups if you are doing your job right.
BTW we are combat oriented so missions are always an option to us to. Until the CH nerf goes through an MCM should be able to solo most missions with a muntain krevol. I have also found it handy to have an MCH leave his pet(s) around for me to control. Nothing like heading out solo with one or two graul maulers at your side listening to your every command ![]()
Anyway we have quite a few options for making money without touching the mining game. Disease pets for people (they ARE still getting the med xp), mind disease people for the entertainers, charge hunting groups for your services, or hit missions in a group or solo.
I am currently working on MCM, and have no problems with money because I am a Pistoleer, and I run high-end missions with my PA a lot. I would just like to say that I have been looking all over Valcyn for a CM vendor. I hate crafting and only do it to fill skill boxes. I buy all of my stims, and I would gladly buy all of my poisons and diseases as well. For those who like crafting please open shops stocked w/ CM meds, or at least put ads on the Bazaar! It would be appreciated!

Here's a couple ideas that should work for Combat Medics. All of these can last as long as the Master Doctor's Enhance D's. Plus these will add to the game without taking anything away from anyone.
- Adrenaline Shots - +50 to burst run or +50 to terrain navigation
- Innoculations - up to 90% resistance to poison or disease
- Berserker Shots - Increases attack speed. (Shorter duration)
- Balance Shots - Reduces chance of knockdown.
- State Buff - Resistance to Dizzy, Intimidation, Stun, etc...
Or you could allow Area and Ranged Stim-A's be used by novice medics. These would have advantages over Stim-B's, but not really effect the sales of Stim-B's.
One thing about being a Master Doctor and selling buffs, is that I buff and get the money, but then I don't see them again for over 3 hours. I've made more money in less time (as a CM)hunting with guildmates taking missions on Dantooine than I ever made in the same time selling buffs. Now this could be a server thing where some people don't care about buffs, or have their own Docs buff them. Plus selling buffs is boring, I like CM because I get to see some action. However, I do believe that Combat Medics need something more marketable.
You have some good Ideas, but I dont think they are all really inline with what I believe CM's should become. I believe we should try and think up some more offensive skills, like inflicting dizzy/stun/blindstates, and such.

- This Would be an interesting skill, but it does come close to what Squad Leaders are for.
- Innoculations - up to 90% resistance to poison or disease
- This sounds more appropriate to Doctors than to CM's. We are supposed to be causing the poisons, Doctors are there to counteract out poisons. I think this would be a very good idea, but as a Doctor Skill.
- Berserker Shots - Increases attack speed. (Shorter duration)
- This is something that sounds more appropriate to Squad Leader. (and I think they might already have a skill like this)
- Balance Shots - Reduces chance of knockdown.
- Again, this is something that sounds more appropriate to Squad Leader.
- State Buff - Resistance to Dizzy, Intimidation, Stun, etc...
- Again, this is something that I thinkwould be more appropriate to Doctor than CM's.
You know, i was actually making some money before they patched the insurance system. now i can't make any money running missions because i'm using my resources to heal group members, and then once they die....i die. then it costs at least 2k to insure again.
I liket he cure/disease/poison idea. I've had a lot of people tell me that its ridiculous that i can't cure what i can apply. I had one guy yell atme about it. ![]()
I'm one broke ass Combat Medic....*sniffle*

You almost had it. It's right in front of you. Add states to diseases. (e.g. focus disease causes dizziness.) This solves the useless disease problem and gives CMs a push up at the same time. How many times have you been deathly ill NOT fallen over in pain? Anyone thats had food poisoning knows what I mean.
As for how to make credits as a CM, I make about 1 million a week maintaining a vendor and selling poisons. But don't expect to make this much selling just any crap, youhave to make and sell the good stuff. Experiment your stuff down to 75 or 50 CMU, whichever you can get in 3 or 4 points. Put the rest in effectiveness. Always use the best possible resources you can. I get non advanced poisons (i.e. all subcomponents are the normal kind) and get stats of 112pot, 224 eff, 25 range, and 75 CMU. These all sell for 4-5k each. In a crate of 10 thats 40-50k each.
Yessir, being a MCM on Flurry has sure done me right. =)

Useless diseases? I thought so too once...
But the Mind/Focus/Willpower diseases are of particular use to all those 'cron-slave Entertainers the galaxy over...with a willing third party...
You might even be able to charge for the service ![]()
