Thread: Combat Medic Diseases...Moral Delima
Diseasing corpses is an exploit and should not be done. Anything else is fair game IMO. Personally I have never really found diseases to be useful in any means.
Depends on your definition of grief though....
It seems to me that one of the points of being a Combat Medic in a large PvP battle situtationis to keep out enemies out of the battle. To do that we use diseases to wound them in various stats.
I have not diseased a corpse, but I have diseased those that are incapped on the floor, but not dead yet.
You know that they will find a way to make themselves. We all know how expensive it can be to become a combat medic. How about selling high quality items / cratesto make the disease, but the final assembly is up to the player who buys it.
Diseasing someone who is up and about fighting = fair play go for it, let em have it.
Diseasing incapped/corpses = griefing for the sake of it cause your feeling a little pieved. Don't like revenge tk's do what every other proffession has to do and LEAVE the area, you run 100 meters away and the person will never find you, simple as that.
Good thread. I'm glad to see someone has a moral conflict in these issues. I tend to use disease as often as I can, but I roleplay an Imperial as well, and he has almost no morals. It all depends on you. If you don't want to then don't bother, but if you do then go for it. I wouldn't willingly exploit the hell out of it, but I'mnot going to stop using them because they can be exploited. We've let them know there is a problem, and it is now the developers' job to solve it.
I am more concerned with what are the exact effects of diseases. Do they just wound, or is there some sort of DoT effect? Is the wounding DoT style? To what extend do they cause wounds? Is it in proportion to the experience gained by the combat medic or does it work differently than poison? I'd appreciate any thoughts, knowledge spent on answering this. Thank.

Griefing is all in perspective..
Using Disease packs to defend your base from revenge TEF wars isn't griefing, but incapping someone, then dropping disease on them and just walking away IS griefing.
That being said, I do carry around disease packs on me but rarely use them unless someone is being a total *self-edit*. It's satisfying to grief the griefer.
Case in point: A lone Rebel got into the imp talus base and was setting people on fire. He'd get killed, clone and revenge TEF everyone. Finally I convinced the other Imperials there just to not DB him and I proceeded to disease and poison every stat I had a pack for and we left him there. Thankfully he was near the outside wall and had killed enough NPCs that they didn't db him. Two wrongs don't make a right, I admit, but it was effectively the only way we had to police the situation ourselves so his griefing didn't ruin the night of the 8+ other ppl he was harassing..
