hehe...i think your idea for a bio-disrupter with the specials is better than my original idea(s). and would be fun to play with...but i can see a lot of screaming happen the first time some1 uses it in PvP tho...

altho the grenade effect is too much like a packs already. but a slow/snare special would be nice since suppressionfire isnt nearly as effective anymore.

Hehe, Actualy I Kinda modeled it a bit after the the flamethrower...just on the oposite side of the Spectrum. The Flame Thrower *SHOULD* Pack a more HEAVY Front End damage and Be Flolowed by a more Reasonable / Average Dot. My Goal is to Build a Gun that Pack a Reasonable Front load Damage Folowed by a SHORT but nasty Effect. The Flamethrowershould be more About Outright damage Supremacy, And Not So much the burn effect after specials. Our Gun Would Be Less about Doing MASSIVE Direct damage and more about "Raining Hell On anyone who Attacks our Patients" with status Effects. I Chose the Grenade AoE Effect because it is Something We Already have....but less effective, So its not realy something Eferyone would complain about.

I Don't intend it to be a Gun that "Kills People Quickly" like the flamethrower does, but a Gun that is more designed to Stop them from Killing you and your Group. I Kinda Figure Commandos and Combat medics are on the same teir of Balancing, So Whe Should be balanced against them.while figuring outHow to Balance a Ranged AoE Stim vs a Proton Grenade is a mistery to me, Balancing a Gun For Us Vs a Flamethrower with a Medical combat twist is prety simple.

I foresee the bioweapon assomething interesting to use that complements otherweapons but is not overpowered. It would simply add diversity to a group arsenal and basically play a pure support role.

Basic attack : Comparable to or slightly weakerthan regular guns DPS. Since you thrown physical stuff such as bioproducts shells, range could be similar to carbine. It should be very fast since medics need fast guns to have lesscombat queue waiting. It could attack both HA with 50% damage, or a random HA pool (no mind).

Cloudattack (AOE) : Weakerbut has short or medium rangearea of effect.

Puke attack :Personal timer attack that makesone opponent puke. (Remembers meanother movie -- that I won't name here -- with Tom Cruise in it)

Bioattack(DOT) : Similar to Health/Action Shotsbut targetsa random HA bar every tick. No mind damage.

Charge attack : You charge any poison or disease pack into the gun, and usingtriple charges, you can get better range(or potency?)at faster rate.

State attack : Per player timer attack which causes randomshort term dizzy, stun, intimidation...

Those are all nasty effects thatare not that powerfull. However it would really confuse the ennemy and wreck havoc in their formation, which,in my opinion, is what biological warfare is all about.

These would render CM very interesting without overpowering it --right now CM is just another novice medic with area stims that can throw poison before dying. Some question I ask myself tough are : Should the biogunbe slicable ? (no) What armor piercing class ? (none or light)

I love the idea of a bio wapon, i think it would bring somthing really diffrent to the game, and also save me a few points not having to do another weopon class, sence i am master combat medic and master doctor, i only have enough for pistol specialist, which is completly worthless prety much. A bio weapon would be interesting, fun, and maybe have us stay alive, intsead of throwing a poison and then dying.

maybe the combat medic can make poison or disease weapon upgrades. Like a poison sword pack, or a disease rifle pack.

personally i am against a CM only weapon that would have any useful offensiv capabilities (damage). what i do like is the idea of mission terminals "sensing" our power through such a weapon should we choose it (equip/unequip weapon). them darn terminals just don't like me that being said i like the "status"-weapon. blind, stun, intimidate whatever. as long as the actual damage of the weapon was in the line of CDEF weapons. i just don't see us as damage dealers, putting a sort of "debuff" on opponents (while using suppression fire with said weapon for example) fits well with the combat support role imho.

so it'd not be a strong weapon to go out hunting with, but just a tactical tool. also we could get missions on the regular planets if we are hunting out with a group (this is horrible with faction missions on tatooine or talus for example... why bother getting a difficulty 9 or 10 mission when you run around with master BHs and commandos?)

I Agree that the ProposedWeapon Should BeMore about the Status effects and less about doing damage....But i think CDEF level damagemay be a Bit Extreem. We are an Elite Hybrid Profession, Just like Commandos and Bountyunters, Although on the Dark(medical)side So i am Gonna Lean more towards the Idea that we should out preform a Marksmen(A Pre-Req)but still be well underthe Advanced Combat professions in damage.

I think we should get tranqualizer guns....Ones that don't do damage at all, just make someone pass out...LOL

Um Kijan,

We can already make people pass out. Area Mind Poison <eg>

But if i recall there was some type of chemical weapons in ShadowRun the RPG. That were called squirts. They were the military version of a super soaker. But then the book called shadowtech came along. Which made those very very dangerous in the game.

Hopefully they will only give the cert to Master Combat Medics to keep the dabblers from using it.

well considering the amount of "nerf the umber CM poison" threads that show up everyday i'd rather not be around when they give us weapons that actually deal decent damage so i'd be content with getting good missions and some utility

Yeah there are a lot of people out there whining and moaning and screaming Nerf CMs At the top of their lungs.

Course they probably will and combat medics will basically be a totally useless class.

Then we can join the ranks of Bio-Engineer and Droid Engineer and Chef.

But one thing they should fix before making new additions is allowing Combat Medics use their experimentation points to craft our components instead of having it set on Medical Experimentation.

that is also a very valid point, agreed. i ended up dabbling in doctor because i didn't want to run to a doc everytime i needed something made.

in the end we will most likely spend some time being a broken class seeing how SOE tends to overdo it a bit with the good old nerfbat. on second thought i'll take that weapon with good damage thank you very much

I really believe we need a tangible weapon. We're the 2nd most expensive skill point class in the game and we are a combat class, despite what some may say. We need a weapon that we are not reluctant to use. Heck, let armorsmiths make it, I don't care. Just give us SOMETHING.
