I have to admit I am not too happy about all these changes. One of the things I liked about CM was the chance to do some crafting.
Now we are relegated to "spells" since we don't need meds in our inventory to heal.
And I agree with the point about, now we are all alike. And honestly, who would take a CM over a Doctor now in a group?

Who is not to say the enhancers the BE's craft won't take venom? We don't know yet. Who isnot to say our stash won't be converted into said enhancers? We don't know yet.

ALL crafting is going to BE. There won't be anything in CM left to craft. You're healing(range/area) and offense(poison/disease) will be Ability based and not consume or use any items.
BE's will craft 'enhancers' which will add a bonus to these innate abilities, but they will NOT be a requirement.
Uh, yeah, what the hell are you responding to? I never said anything about the new stuff taking or not taking Venom or the same resources...

Personally I'm curious about the dazes. What the heck will a "daze" be?

Sry Texxie,
I was responding to the posts below yoursabout the crafting and stuff. I was just highlighting what you said, as a point of reference and potential speculation, not getting on yer case brother.

Ah, that clears it out then. Or not. I feel like either you are just trying to confuse me further, a goal the Erisian in me applauds, or I have missed out something in the CURB docs (which I haven't read too closely yet since I've had a lot to do today.) 8)

Ok, then I'm happy
*gets distracted by shiny thing, but not before mental note is made to join TC for Beta-testing if possible*

I hate the magic flavor. This really isnt star wars any more. I dont mind things being more fun, but no need to make the game easy for the stupidest players. This only makes the game terribly boring for those of us of average or higher intellect. A LOT of people liked crafting, and managing a pharmacy to use in the field was a skill....by all means reduce the inventory clutter, but not by giving us all Wizard skills... /meh

Aw, all this magic-talk seriously disappoints me. Why are we going this way? Did people complain about too much inventory clutter? (Then why'd they expand inventories?) Did they complain about resource requirements? Did they complain that some people were able to make "uber" poisons and others could not?
Ach, I just don't get it. Not only does it feel less like Star Wars and more like magic (which I assume is NOT what we're going for), it cuts into a part of the crafting game that people did enjoy.
I think this is the maddest I've been about any game issue ever. Does this mean that Medics' and Doctors' abilities are going "magical" as well? Oh it saddens me to think of it.

I'm gonna stick with it and rely on the fact that the devs wont completely make us into a static character.

I understand your concerns, and I don't know how long you've been here but I'd like to remind everyone what things were like before beta testing.
Combat Medics had been announced, people were wondering how they would be functionally different than Docs and Medics. Oneof the devs said, "Well for instance, they will have area and ranged healing abilities."
The most common responses to this statement:
"What, like aCleric??? That is so un-Star Wars"
"What are they gonna do, thow bacta grenades? RE-TAR-DED!"
"Worst idea evar!"
So please, before you get terribly upset, remember you might not have completely understood what you read and you might actually like what comes out in the end. Someof you lost a tremendous financial investment. I would encourage you to take advantageof the respec and go BE. Personally I'm salivating over the 34 SP that I can free up in all this.
