Thread: Should Paralyze Have Been Changed?

Well CM is totally wrecked. I kept it after the CU for 2 reasons Rez and Paralyze. Paralyze is totally useless now... Thanks. And, I sure am not keeping a full elite profession for rez.




Just glad they changed it now so I can respec, yet another disappointment.

Ok folks here's my two cents, first paralyse, is our best defense against outrageous amounts of aggroes we get, second melee has had it good for a very long time and all this whining indicates to me that perhaps you should respec. The combat upgrade is supposed to balance out the professions and roots are our defence against a melee artist running up and bashing our heads in. Melee has the defences to compensate

My friend is a MCM and we went to Nightsister Stronghold and went in the "building"
In the middle of the Stronghold. There were some tough fights in there at one time we have
2 lvl 84's attacking us, let me tell you without paralyze we both would have died.
He paralyzed one then we attacked the other killed him, then paralyze the same girl again
and healed up, then killed that girl. It was great help...

in PvE it works perfectly to freeze up any mob that attacks that u r NOT attacking...combat medics can pin them down while damage dealers handle the targeted mob


in PvP it works perfectly to freeze up the non targeted person and prevent them from doing anything...

The only use for paralyze is as crowd control now. With the hope and prayer that people all assist on the same target. By the "nerf"(correction) it received I'd say that's what the devs intended for it. It is completely useless in solo/PvP encounters now. Some people are mad about this, others are greatful. Personally I feel it should have been changed to not break on DoT damage but break on all other damage (If thatis even possible).

That would make itan offensive/solo tool, without making it completely overbalanced. But I still feel combat medic was designed to be support healing, paralyze should be used as a crowd control ability.


Jedi are suppose to be difficult to kill. While defenders are the jedi "fotm", just like everything else it will get changed. Hopefully the devs will find a balance that wont cripple jedi, making them to easy to hunt and kill.


Then again, players are resourceful, in a week or so there will be a new tactic to kill defenders.


The new CU is still early, there will be many more changes made. Eventually everything will balance out one way or another. It just depends on how people look at it to determine if that is good or bad.
