So explain to me how admitting I can beat any Commando, any BH, any melee class from range, any carbineer, any pistoleer, and usually riflemen and saying our class is a bit too strong is a cry for nerf? LoL. Im actually dropping CM, to take a radical change and go Pikemen, because Im sick of hearing people complain about me and other CM's, mostly because theyre right. All the reasons I listed ^ above, and the fact we more than likely wont see a 75% damage reduction, is enough for me to say this class just isnt fun anymore. I would rather play a Pikemen and live through the struggle of HARD PvP than continue being a CM.

A. The Devs are suppose to be capping it to 64m

B.That a bug and will be fixed

C. Master BH,TKs, Pistoleers...etc don't miss either and when they did it was due to stacking of too many defence mods(which has been fixed)

D. We are not the only class with area attacks.. Master Pistoleers have fan and Multi target shots.

The reason CMs can beat most ppl is not the fact that the poison is doing all the damage is that most CMs are alsoanother Master Combat class. I'm a rifleman/CM and both these classes allow me to target the mind.. so is it really the fault of the poison or the fact i can attack an UNHEALABLE pool(forget the fact CMs can heal the mind its limited use) with mind poison and spam heatshots

You guys calling for a nerf to the CM really should wait until after the combat revamp before you post anymore of these threads.

Master Rifleman can shoot for well over 400 points of mind damage to a well armored opponent with a post-nurf T21. A good Krayte T21 can blow your head off with 1 shot. A Master rifleman fires 1 x per second.

Flame DOT. Doh!

All brawler Dizzy/KD dances.

75% Damage reduction if they poison ticked 1 time per second seems fair, otherwise you are out of your skull.

Go pikeman...

Poison is the only damage type (that i'm aware)that does the same damage in PvP and PvE.. a good pistol can do 4k damage in PvE and around 600 damage in PvP. I think we can all see the problem here ppl... poison has already been nerf by 75% but the devs messed it up and applied to PvE as well..

We should petition for PvE damage to be increased by 75%

.... and you guys encounter a CM in PVP how often??

We are a rare commodity! People don't usually go the CM route! Many of us dropped the profession when the poison stopped incapping and stayed doc!

I understand prior that seeing ourselves from the outside and asking for anerf to our own profession is supposed to show a sign of dignity, but please...

Stopping shot from a BH can do 600+ with a krayt pistol and he can use that every 2 sec or less... Teras Kasi can wipe you out in one **edit** kick.. and you wanna make poisons do 75% less?

Combat Medics are NOT all powerful and far from uber. Why not start a forum of how many people managed to kill a CM? Bet there would be plenty.

Just stop....

He's right the poison needs a good nerfing. The pvp reduction is something that should apply to all classes no exceptions. Those of you making comparisons with Krayt enhansed weapons need to understand that not everyone has those weapons. They're rare and as such will probably outperform your formidable abilities if given the opportunity.

and your theory would be flawed

there are not a million things that are unfair about the CM profession, the amount of damage done by poisons is definatly not one of them

yes...being able to toss a poison more that 64m can be a bit unfair, but I can shoot my rifle slightly over the 64m mark as well. The devs have already said they were going to cap poison range so this is not an issue any more

The poison/disease incap problem should be addressed when the HAM revamp is pushed in the next publish, this should also take care of the commando flame causing incap and death. And we can always hope they found a cure for fire. We won't know if it is still an issue untill we see the changes.

As for raw damage in PvP, how much damage do you take from a commando's fire dot with a full set of armor on? how much damage do you take from a BH spamming eyeshot in the 8 seconds it takes for a poison to tick? the answer would be way more than what you get from any poison.

The only poison type that gets the screems for a nerfing is the mind poison, and that is because the mind pool is not as healable as the other pools. This needs to be fixed, and I am hoping with the revamp to the HAM system we will be able to see the mind stims that were pulled in beta return to the game.

The only way I can see a 75% reduction hitting the CM poisons is only if the effectivness of STANDARD COMPONENTS are increased so that the poisons created with them will MATCH the damage done by the rifleman DoT's

I would also like to add there are skill tapes out there that will increase your resistance to poison, as well as knockdown, dizzy, bleed, etc...seek and ye shall find

AND with the new chef buff system and BE craftables to increase the chef buffs maybe the whole 75% reduction will get dropped...the point is we won't know UNTILL we see the changes in effect. so quit your whining untill then

Justify the need for the CM to have an advantage over all other classes in the game.

A) We can hit from 76m. This is a bug, it was supposed to be capped last patch and was not. Instead, heal stims are not going out to their full range. This will be changed.

B) Disease/Poison incaps, and only doctors can stop that. This will not last long. It is a bigger problem with flamethrowere which also cause damage and wounds at the same time. When flamethrowers are fixed this probably will be also.

C) We never miss.

D) We can hit your entire group in one shot. Only if the other group is not practicing sound tactics.

If none of these were changed, and the class was left as it is, then a 75% reduction would even us out. They are slated to be changed.

I forgot where it was posted and if I have permission to repeat it but....A while back poison damage was looked at by the Devs in PvP and it was decided that it would not undergo the 75% reduction. Please keep in mind, however, that with the upcoming combat cnanges/balances, DoTs will be looked at again.

Have you ever been shot in the head by a gun with a 90% comp helm on?

How much damage did you take?

50? 100?

LOL...right, and then they have the choice of what type of weapon to use on you, energy, stun, cold (probably others) there's no way in hell you can have 90% protecting every single type of damage they can do to you. So you're wearing a 90% energy helmet, woops, one shot killed with the jawa rifle, you're dead... lol you obviously have a godly helmet that no one else can make if you can protect against everything they do.

3 of the four things the original poster complained about are being fixed. I agree with one thing. I think we are at 75% reduction already. I think if anything we need to have our poisons upped in PvE and left alone in PvP.

I would say that Area effect poisons should be toned down a little bit, but not a lot. I also think that instead of crying for nerf here, that we should be crying for doctors to get poison and disease innoculations. These would give a bonus against poisons, and make the doctor class an even more viable solution.

One thing all you nerf people forget is that instead of reducing a character, you should really be looking at increasing another character to counter the imbalance, if there really is one.

I am not complaining about commando fire DOT, what I would really like to see is a medic, squad leader, or doctor ability that would put the fire out. That would be an effective counter instead of lowering the damage done.

I just have to ask all of you who are screaming about a nerf some questions.

Why do you have to take away the fun of one profession to balance the profession?

Can't we come up with other ways to balance a class without nerfing the profession?

I still maintain that there are effective ways to counter every profession in the game. Your lack of ability and imagination to find them is what is driving you to make these calls for nerf.

Last time I checked there is poison resistance skill tapes out there. I have one sitting in my house right now.

I would also be in support of giving BEs Poison Resistance tissues.

So it is possible to provide for some defense against poison, but in all honesty there's only so much you can do without wearing a gas mask or bio suit the entire time.
