NO I don't think you are going to see this requirement drop and I don't think it should be dropped. The whole thing about Combat in the title is about having spent time fighting. If all you want is to be the most powerful healer in the game, then it is going to cost you Ranged Support. After all we have to be able to judge distances when throwing all of these poisons, diseases and heals.
