Definately go for Dirty Fighting first. At least you gain some new specials and it feels like you accomplish something while grinding all of that pistol experiance.
The only reason to go Underworld before Dirty Fighting is if you have a need to sell faction points.

Yeah, Dirty Fighting.
Here's a tip for panic shot, if you're a medic.
Set up a macro to replace the standard /panicshot button.
Put in:
/panicshot;
/peace
or
/lowblow;
/panicshot;
/peace
It'll give you ten good seconds to heal a little while they're not attacking, since you'll peace and the fact that you're not dealing damage keeps them delayed(unless you previously put a DoT on them).

Feign Death hasn't been useless to me. So far it is the only Dirty Fighting skill I have, but I've used it several times and its always worked for me. So far I am 0210 in my smuggler skills. I want to finish getting my slicing tree as soon as possible since those skills will help make me some money. I do have a question. I'm slowly building up my pistil xp. Should I get dirty fighting II or Novice Pistoleer. Is Health Shot 2 worth it? That and I use a republic blaster some, so the certification for that would be nice too.

Definately go for Novice Pistoleer. The extra Certs for the Republic Blaster and DX-2 are worth it alone. Plus Health Shot 2 is one of the standard spamming shots of pistoleer since it does a good amount of damage.
When I was grinding out my pistol XP, I found that just by taking novice Pistoleer helped tremendously.

And FD is not pointless you just have to know how to use it and have some pateints. Using FD I can fight red con NPCs and critters gaining far more XP than I could otherwise solo
FD while nerfed is still just as useful in PVE as it was before.

Pistoleer has helped me a ton. I'm still working my way up the pistoleer and smuggler lines, but having pistoleer has helped a ton. Health shot is excellent IMO. I use it all the time, and it's saved my furry butt a number of times (along with FD, that is 
). The republic blaster is my number one weapon, followed by my DX2. I would highly recommend the pistoleer line.

I got Dirty Fighting I so that I could use Feign Death which has saved my butt more than a few times. Then I went for Novice Pistoleer for the stats, and now I'm going back to complete the Dirty Fighting Tree. After I'm done with that, then I'll grind through Underworld for the Master Smuggler title, then go back and go for Master Pistoleer.
