You also have to take this into account, how many fights have you one before running out of action? You advanced critical to your hearts content, but even with buffs, the best foods/spices, and a low sac weapon, your action is gone in seconds. When this happens I apply dots/states/heals as needed, by the time I'm done with that, action bar is recharged and they have to deal with both my dots and power shots. Fights against jedi or anyone that can heal themselves come down to hitting harder then they can heal. By prolonging the fight for a few more seconds to apply dots/states, you can overwhelm them when you get back to business.

i think they wanted cm's role to be more support: debuffs (come on, a 2 minute snare is AWESOME), heals, rez and less damage

If they just reduced the time between 'ticks by a small ammount, it would make DOT's more useful.

As a MTK/MCM, I sometimes attack every mob around me , alternating between fire & poison. Then I start attacking them 1 by 1. By the time I get to the 4th mobs, they've lost half their health....by mob number 7, they have little health left. I do this mainly when solo'ing though, as it's not so useful in groups as the mobs die quickly from other attacks..

Needing FS senses XP I ground out MCM to complement my MBH. I must say I love the DOTs and don't see them as a drawback. I see them as a plusto my DPS for my proton carbine.

It all boils down to DPS. With enhancers, I'm at about 600 dps once my DOT's hit and I start lambasting my weapon specials.

Add to that, I have yet to run out of action or mind in a PvP or PvJedi bout. I'm amazed watching my guildies wait for their action bars to allow another special. How many other professions are doing 6-700 damage per tick while they're healing themselves. I can say jedi aren't doing it to me.

Also, it's all about offense in PvP. Rarely am I using my CM abilities to heal, only in long jedi clashes is it necessary for me (that's over 20minutes 1:1).

CM is awesome in PvP but does require another combat template. IMO You will NOT win with MCM/MDOC vs MCM/anyMCombat. Add CM to another combat prof mastery, learn how to play both (vs spam mind poison/disease FTW) as a full PvP template and you're golden. It is a thinking game now. You have to look at what DOTs are still active and reapply as necessary during combat with your weapons.

okay so i tried this last night, i fought 3 fights without losses, but then the lag monster creeped up on me and since this strategy requires speed, i ended up having to last ditch on the last fight. Anyway, its simple, what you do is start off in melee range, people are stupid and will think that you are some noob with a pistol that doesn't know how to use it. First off you pistol whip for KD, then immediately paralyze, then you apply debuffs such as thyroid rupture, hemmorage, and shock. By this time paralyze is worn off and they have started to hack at you a bit. This is when you root, go out to 35m and DOT them, from then on, its a waiting game pretty much, you can use LOS to really piss them off and watch em tick away, you can keep them rooted and just keep distance as your doing around 700 damage per shot and another 600 damage per tick, or whatever your preference may be. But with this strategy, its hard to loose. Warning though, if you get some high lag, your screwed, but thats true with just about any temp.

Enjoy!
