Thats not true, you still have to have the skill "Apply Poison" & "Apply Disease".

They should work, Ranged & Melee professions tapes seem to work.

Sorry, should read

Tell me again what the difference is; Say someone has +25 too 2handed melee speed , but doesnt have brawler. Sure they're arent certified to use the weapons in the 2 handed tree, but the tapes STILL WORK.

I just dont know why SOE won't enable the tapes...

Stims useable by anyone who can scrap together +5 in tapes would cause a serious imbalance, IMO, Where as there is no imbalance if someone can use a survival knife at the speed cap.

I still dont think this is right; I have a +25 to Surveying Tape in a duster on my server, Still doesnt allow me to survey. Why? B/c i do not have the survey skill.

Same thing would go for medic. You have to have healdamage/healwounds to heal yourself correct? I don't see how one can say there would be in imbalance, as you have to have the skill that comes with that skill-line to use the stims to begin with.

You could skip entire lines though (either pharmacology or med knowledge and/or the CM support line) and still use all the meds. Many of the healing skills are granted in the novice boxes. The only thing that keeps a novice medic from using stim E's is med use. Combat medicine use tapes would even give novice medics the ability to use ranged stims, because they are also triggered by the /healdamage command.

Med use and CM use modifiers aren't anything like speed, accuracy or damage modifiers. They are more like weapon certs. You can't use a weapon without the skill (at least not without a sever drop in damage), and there are no tapes to give out weapon certs.

Well if novice medics can use ranged stims with cm use tapes, then why in the hell do cm's have to take the ranged support line of marksman? Does that have no bearing in the code???????????

It has no bearing in the code. The devs probably thought that making CMS spend the 23 points or whatever it is would 'balance' the benefits of being a CM.

Just out of curiosity, does SOE's development staff also run the Offense for the Miami Dolphins?

As it currently stands they can't use ranged stims with CM medical use tapes, because the tapes don't work (a good thing IMO)
