I just came in here to read up on the CM profession and I don't have an opinion either way on this, but I do have to say that the guys in here defending the Combat Medics are making you all look bad. Even if they guy is calling for a nerf, ya don't just start screaming 'noob' at someone who is at least polite.

Jeez... enlighten him and at least treat him with some respect if you think he's wrong. Don't just spout off and call him a noob.

It's simply frustration from which most respond. When you have a 'nerf cm!' thread on a daily basis and have already attempted the 'educate them' route, you finally grow weary and simply respond and vent your frustration. It's natural, really...not saying I agree with it, but I have been known to do so myself a time or two.

And to the original poster, I still await answers to the questions posed earlier.

Guys, I was in a large battle a few days ago. The participants in this fight were all veteran pvpers. The teams were roughly equivelant in numbers and skills. What proved to be the decisive factor was the presence of a combat medic on one of the teams. This guy was easily throwing his poisons and diseases from 80 meters and effecting people from easily a 100 meters. Lag might account for 10 meters or so, but I thought you guys had your range lowerd to that of other combat profesions. Did this actually happen or are we still waiting on the patch?

You know what I am seeing here and it just hit me tonight.

Everyone that comes in here crying nerf always almost without fail is complaining because they got Mind Poison and Mind Disease.

When is the last person you heard complaining about a poison that was delivered to their health or action?

Why is that? It all has to do with the stupid idea that mind should be unhealable, allowed to incapacitate from the damage done, and not very effective to buff.

Come on guys, we have to see this, this has been an issue since the game was launched and if they took our mind poisons and diseases away, then everyone would be on the rifleman and fencer boards crying for a nerf there. The developers have to see this. Any attack that produces damage that is unhealable and can incapacitate is going to be the achilles heal of every character on the server.

If the developers had any guts at all they would make it where the mind bar is no longer attackable or give all medic classes the ability to heal mind on the field. Take away the stupid wounding and battle fatigue associated with it as well. Don't cry about rifleman not being able to do anything, who said they should be so special to have a non healable attack anyway? Don't cry about entertainers, I am not saying that we should be able to heal the mind wounds.

This would effectively make combat last longer and be more fun in PvP and PvE.

It is eitehr being lowered or has been lowered. I would not know since I don't think I have ever gotten the resources to make a poison to throw past 50 meters.

Guys, I came to this forum with a simple question. I was trying to look at this objectively but I don't appreciate being lied to. Why does the Dec 16 patch notes say that ",The maximum experimental range for ranged healing and DoT medicines has been capped at 48m."? A lot of people on this post seriously have an attitude and you guys need to check it. If people come here and complain don't call them a newb who doesn't have a clue. All your going to do is piss them off and have them cry even more for a nerf

Some solutions to the poison/disease issues:

1. Make doctors cure prevent someone from getting repoisoned/rediseased for set time amount.

2. Provide food/drink that slows effects of poison/disease (call it antidote). I don't think outright curing should be done here, but thats possible too for high end food.

3. Increase mind/action/health cost of tossing a poison/disease so that it can't be done repeatedly. Alternatively, increase animation time to toss area diseases.

I can live with these nerfs. I have a master doc/cm and been on both sides of the battle and it is imbalanced and needs fixing. I don't think reducing range does much as you'll never find the CM in a hoard that charges a base and lets the CM toss in a few area poison/diseases.

Hey Gragg,

I feel your frustration. I am not sure what if anything the devs have done with poisons. I know I can throw past 48 meters, but I am not sure about past 64 meters. Chances are they had intended on lowering it, but as it is with so many patches that are introduced, they either do nothing at all, or do exactly the opposite they were hoping to accomplish.

I am sorry, I am in the software development business. Mainly in the form of an ASP (Application Service Provider) and I hate when I am told a project is ready or a patch is fixed and I go to the application and it does not work properly. There is absolutely no reason for that kind of nonsense. You have to know your code and know what a change is going to do before you make the change.

It is NOT that hard to do, it is just time consuming to do and unfortunately in our dya and age the motto "Release it and let the users debug it" seems to be the norm. Microsoft has made billions off that motto.
