Thread: This call for nerf is ridiculous

It is interesting there are so many ways to negate a Combat Medic on the field.

1. Bring your own combat medic to the fight. Ever hear the old saying "Don't bring a knife to a gunfight?"

2. Bring a doctor or three with you. Plain enough, if you cannot out-poison them, then out-cure them.

3. Bring a squad leader with you. OK so number 1 and number 2 could not be accomplished. Then bring someone that can concentrate all firepower on the combat medic. A squad leader should be able to do that. One volley from a good sized group of people should either send the combat medic running or at best take him out of the game. (If this does squad leader does not work, then that is a different issue)

4. Avoid being all in one place. This is the first thing they taught us in the military when out on patrol. Do not stay clumped together in a group where one well placed grenade can take out the entire group).

5. Make friends with a chef and eat food!

6. Make friends with a smuggler and eat Muon Gold (these are just ways to help negate the effects, or at least give you a fighting chance)

Right off the top of my head there are 6 ways to negate the power of a combat medic. I am sure there are many more and I would welcome you all to post anything that I have missed.

Well...look at it this way, a combat medic can take down an entire groups mind to 1 in about 10-15 seconds....

Please...tell me how that isfair? I'm a doctor and sometimes I cant even get to my poisons meds fast enough to even cure myself rather than an entire group....its overpowered

o yeah, cms arent overpowered, they can only put 250 people (about 100 of us had full wounds cause docs couldnt heal us in time) in the cantina. IN ONE STIM. yeah... not overpowered...

and btw, i have a cm alt and used to be a cm before poison resources came

Hmm, 700+ ranged mind bleed, 800+ Melee mind bleed, Strafe 2 for 400+ damage ever second, Melee damage mitigation 3 and ranged damage mitigation 3. Yeah...not overpowered....either!

First of all, if you let a single Combat Medic tag your entire group with an area poison, then you and your entire groupdon't deserve to play.

Second, fortunately for you idiots that did get tagged by an area poison, that it doesn't incap, so I would like to take this momment to recommend a tactic to you. It's called, spread out and run away.

Anyway, enough said, get the **edit** off my forum board.

well we arent hugging eachother, range seems to be ~20m area correct me if im wrong...and in GCW and pvp in large groups and cities...usually all attacks come from same general area

being stuck at 1 mind is just as bad as incap...can't use any specials or do anything except run and pray someone does hit you with 1 shot.....my problem is its too strong/fast if it ticked at 50 or 100 it would still be effectivejust not as devestating.CM can demolish groups ina few seconds

Even a turret can't take out that many people so fast, should combat medics be stronger?

You guys must have some super disease packs, because on Bloodfin, I have some of the absolute best resources and my disease for area tops out at 210 per tick and 220 on single.

And if you're telling me that there are resources on your server that can tick at 400 on a disease, then the poison must be hitting over 1000 per tick because you can't find any better resource for the final construction than what I have and unless the advanced infection amplifier is over 400 power, I very much doubt thatthe disease or poison hitting that high.

Oh, by the way, it's mathmatically impossible to have your Advanced Infection Amplifier to have over 400 Power. The highest mathmatically possible power you can get for that is 200.

So, before you starting to open your mouth and throwing out numbers, please insert foot first, or feet if it's particularly big.

Either should Commando be able to hit your with a flame cone 2 and be done with it, or Swordsman hit you with a mind bleed, or Riflemen shoot you with a mind bleed.

I bet Iwon't hear this whine if it were for the fact that your mind pool is the one that's being targeted and it has an area effect. Don't blame that on the Combat Medic, we're just using the advantage.

Perhaps you should go and cry on the Rifleman, Commando or Swordsman forum board.

Be a MD and get over it.

This is called abuse of the group tef problem. Not a problem with the Combat Medic, please take itto a different forum.

Sorry, I gotta call bs on 250 people within a 20-30m radius and the disease & poison hit everybody.

If the CM was instead a master pistoleer, he could've fan shot everyone of you and incapped you in 6 secs, or a master rifleman could've used his aoe.

Suprised the game didn't crash when the combat spam came up

I hope SOE sees these nerf cries for what they are.

Here these people want to come in here and claim that they are getting poisoned with an Area poison and getting their HAM reduced to 1 in 10-15 seconds. That would be an area of effect poison that TICKS for at least 600 mind. Maybe if the other group was really moronic they would have all their mind used in health and action, if you do that then you are a total noobie, no one I know has that kind of template since health and action is so much easier to buff and heal.

Oh and I guess he poisoned you through three walls, behind a hill 3 kilometers away too. Oh and he threw 50 of these poisons in two seconds.

Seriously you guys need to make sure you have your facts straight before you come here screaming nerf.

The same thing about the guy with the disease that is ticking for 400 points. And it probably took you complete mind bar down in 20 seconds too?

the problem i have with CM is the fact they can throw up to 90m, i cant even target them with a rifle that far. Im not a CM and never was but i was told they can experiment on there range or somthing. i just dont see how that is fair is they can disease or posion u and u cant shoot back bc there too far away.

I took a break from SWG for a few months and I return to see my fellow Combat Medics (from the opposing faction)throwing THROUGH THE WALLS. What fun is defending a base if the other guy is invincible and can lob poison from 64m?

In open combat 1v1, CMs stand no chance. We can get that out of the way.

In group combat, I ALWAYS try to make my medical skills as unknown as possible at the beginning, because anything that doesn't go boom is automatically fired at FOR A REASON. If you use a KD and take out the medic (could be combat medic, doctor, any type), then the problem is solvedon the only field of play the combat medic is effective in (except for lobbing poison through walls).

Once walls are fixed, you just have to aim for the guy who's healing everybody. It's not that hard unless you're dumb enough to cluster 250 people within 20 feet with no covert scanner, see a red and a blue con, and kill the red one, not suspecting anything. Holy **edit**, was that funny. I wish I was there.

ROFL How in the name of Yoda did you manage to get 250 people in that small an area? Better yet, without the lag being soooo bad that no one could even move? If you want to complain on our forums, quit exaggerating and start getting your facts straight. Take a look at the abilities of some of the other elite profs, take a look at the resources required for our prof to do any good at all, and above all:
