Thread: Combat Medics are Medics First, Combat Second

I know it's really a hard concept to grasp, but i'll spell it out for you: it doesn't matter where you put your skillpoints, only how many you spent to get to your Master title.
That's what gives you the right to power in this design scheme.
So the argument "bla bla no combat trees" isn't valid.
So by your logic doctors and rangers should be more powerful combat classes than pistoleers/carbineers/etc?
Yes. They should be more powerful in their chosen profession than a pistoleer. A doctor should be able to cure states, stop bleeding, heal damage and wounds faster than a pistoleer can apply it (until he runs out of mind). A Ranger should be able to ... ummm... do ranger stuff... better than a pistoleer can do damage, and a chef should be about on par with a pikeman for damage... actually, that one is about spot on
This post kinda became a flame war so let me explain why I posted it. First I want to say that IWAS apartial spec combat medic0 0 0 4. It works, I've done it, Itkills. Iwon'targue the master combat medic has better effectiveness poison because they are correct...i think..never mastered to tell ya. But I know that a bleed that is POISON cannot be healed by non doctors and is insta death for any combat/non doctor player atm because they die
.
I didn't expect to really change anyones view point. But it is the view point of some that havePLAYED combat medic.I went upcombat medic tree for just this poison so I know howpowerful it is. I was a TKM that needed a range attack but needed healing so this was a nice route. I personally did not want to be a ranged healer so I did not master combat medic. Let me repeat, I did NOT want to be a ranged HEALER so I did not master combat medic. So the argument that you need to master to use the combat aspect is wrong...go up one tree and you got the poisons.
This is the spec that is defending the poison the most because it is really their only weapon. The infamous Master Doctor/Master Combat Medic spec. I don't feel that anyone with this much healing and buffing power should be able to use such a deadly poison and kill. This is a solo character spec that gives you enough buffs to wear composite with little to no worries and aoe poison and diseaseattacks that might as well be a flame thrower DoT.
Anotherreason why SOME MCM want poisons to continue to incap. So they can AOE poison, get dbed, revenge TEF and db all targets now incap from poison...example abuse. This is why even though Ihad acombat medic, Iam for thechange..this should not happen.Note: reason I am not currently a combat medic is not because the poison stinks now..its because I need the points to do the bidding of the holocrons.

Poison is poison..its a non healable DOT.
Assuming you're using the same language as the rest of us, then you are saying poison can't be healed?
I just want to be clear on this.

You are aware that revenge TEF was removed from the game a few weeks ago, right? So unless you are defending your city and can redeclare easily you cannot run and pick up db's of people incapped from poison before you cloned.
If your a commando or bounty hunter with no doctor skills and you are not in a cantina to get mind wounds healed, would you consider a poison healable? Any attack that requires you to incap or wait till its effect is gone is non healable. Its very common for people to have some degree of medic skill to heal bleeds...not as common to heal poison. Since poison is a combat used item, main concern with it is the ability to heal during combat instead of waiting till your incaped.
Revenge TEF, yes the devs partially nerfed it but there are always ways around it. Example if your group is still being attacked you are still free to db everyone. You are still getting revenge, and its off a tef....not the same I know ...but this was an issue weeks ago and is part of the reason of the continual nerfs. You also explained another way which was go overt after dieing and dbing that way...two ways with many more in existence.
Please do not get too stuck on the details of my posts...its the entire concept I'm arguing...the fact that some combat medics want to be commandos instead of medics and feel that they should kill like commandos.
What I would like seen for combat medics are emphasis on ways to add to how combat medics heal in battle. The mind heal was a great addition to make combat medic somewhat more useful....The profession should be combat oriented healer class..instead its a combat oriented grief class with dots that can't be healed and disease that is nothing more than a griefing tool.

about a week into playing SWG after launch I saw a dude with a title 'Chemical Warfare Expert'... I asked him hey how do you get THAT title? He LOLed me and said he was a MCM...
From that point I wanted to be a MCM (and am now). I PvP alot and can hold my own against many of the elite profs fairly well. I have beaten commandos and Bountyhunters. I am a dealer of death on a mass scale. Chemical warfare IE MCM and Napalm Death dealers IE Commandos should be on par with each other... Both of us can inflict mass amounts of damage to a number of taargets at once...
A medic is one that has extensive knowlage of anatomy and physiology. Not of one, but many biological forms.. Who does one go to, to make a chemical agent? a chemist. How does this 'Chemist' know how to create something that will inflict pain and suffering? Medical training...
A medic although is 'trained' to save lives, is also one that has the knowladge to take life. Dr.Kavorkian, The Dr who devised the 'Lethal Injection' death sentance, Dr. Mengele. These are just a Few 'Medics' That chose the darker end of the medical profession...
So before one starts spouting about what a medic is? think about what a medic could be...
Oh well... all you whinners cries for our poisons and incap griefing to be changed only got our proffession some much needed lovin... and thanks to you people I will be making poisons with 10point experimented components and Advanced AOE Cs... So thanks for all the whining I guess the sqeaky wheel does get the greace....
Nicely put OtuCM. I am exicted about my approach on MCM, and i hope to be able to use all of my hard earned resources and skills effectively!

No problem, I will not allow the forum for combat medic to be flooded by wannabe chemical warefare experts. The Devs know what they want it to be...they are adding mind healing for a reason..so I agree, whine all you want, but the way some of you are abusing the system by tef, and griefing..this class is in for continual nerfs.

Wait, who is the one whining? Oh did you forget this is the Combat Medic Forums? Did you expect people to agree with you, then join hands and sing Koom Bye Ya? Im tired of everyone who got "owned" in pvp coming in here and talking like they know everything. Its really simple, we dont want your one sided opinions, so dont post them.
