Thread: How to be an effective CM in PVE & PVP .Looking for advice from some seasoned CM's out there
I've been doing CM for a relatively short time but thought I'd throw my thoughts out there too. The arguement over solo vs. group I think is moreabout style. A CM can effectively do either just solo takes a different style. You can't just walk in plant your feet and overpower everything that comes at you, you have to use a little strategy (I know that word isn't very popular with most in the game). Just as effectively you can thrive in a group. Your role changes and you have to remember the objective. Yeah maybe you could hit the Rancor with poison real quick but keeping the group alive will probably be more helpful (as well as make you really popular in the group).
Anyways, some things I've learned about groups (think everybody covered the solo thing pretty well):
Always try to position yourself in the center of the group. You ranged heals will usually reach all sides and you have some blockers to keep the heat off you.
If there are pets in the group have them regroup so they are at the bottom. If not seems those listed under the pets will get forgot about in the heat of battle.
Know your other healers in the group. If they go down they become 1st priority. Nothing worse than the healers on the ground watching as the group dwindles.
For xp I haven't found anything better than Rancor hunts. I got 4424 (hate crafting) in a week on Dath and that wasn't playing like a reclusive speed freak. You can get massive healing xp in the groups, collect about 72k creds per full hunt (you'll need it in this prof), and since you're the most popular guy in the group for keeping them all alive you can usually talk them out of all the bile (very usefull later)
The list goes on but I'm at work and sooner or later my boss is gonna come over and see what I'm working so hard on. So just say I only got into this prof because of some silly blue box (finally something good that came out of one), but I'm actually keeping this one.Pick your style and run with it, I think your in one of the most versatile prof in the game (canplay the crafter, the healer, or the fighter)
