Yeah, park rangers and outdoors men are real bad ass in the wild, until they get bit by a snake. Then they go to the hospital like the rest of us.

Not even close. I'm a master doc with master doc made antidotes and less than 15 minutes ago I was in a fight in anchorhead with some rebs. CM ran in, threw his area mind poisons and diseases, hit everyone, threw some more, kept doing it until we were all drained. I was trying to heal myself and then I'd get to my fellow fighters because I can't heal them if I have no mind pool anyway. I cleared my combat queue and clicked poison antidote (always get rid of the poison first) and it said the poison was lessened. Lessened? What good does that do me? None. I have to wait for another couple seconds before I can use meds again and try again. I click the button, hey I actually got rid of it. Then get hit with another. They're thrown much faster than they can be healed and since you get area attacks and we dont get area heals, everyone is **edit**ed.

Actually, when thinking of rangers you should think along the lines of the hardened mountain man. He would know you should suck out the poison from the snake bite. I agree rangers should get it, since of all the professions, they would most likely know the natural way to combat a poison or disease, like what plants can counteract it and whatnot. Also, living out in the wild they may have been exposed to the natural versions of those poisons and diseases. A person can actually become immune to a poison if they are gradually exposed to it in small amounts throughout their life. Emperors and kings would often do this so they couldn't be poisoned, or at least wouldn't die from it.

Bah!!!! I got sick of the nerf whining in Anarchy Online for about 2 years and since I arrived in swg all I hear is the same nerf song. Leave the profs alone Sony and let people enjoy their choices and learn how to play their toons....simple tactics: use coverts to scout of cm's before hand by examine and get rdy to target. Simple stuff imo (I know most people like to run with the bulls and not knowing how to play theirtoons)...been there done that and saw cm's go down fast that way. Anyways I have always been against the cookie cutters in other games. Nothing wrong with stacking def mods and such for mind...but has to be a price from other defs.Anyways I left after a month during launch due to the mess in swg...after feeling out all the profs and decided my prof combos, if I see the profs going to be a messy waste of time. Time to dance with another game...wasting time over dev's inability to hindsight balance is not my game Was hoping I found a stable game for a change.../me crosses fingures

I doubt he hit EVERYONE...

Um, why didn't you guys just kill him then?? Combat medics are the most vulernable combat class of all, no defenses in the tree whatsoever.

I was trying to heal myself and then I'd get to my fellow fighters because I can't heal them if I have no mind pool anyway. I cleared my combat queue and clicked poison antidote (always get rid of the poison first) and it said the poison was lessened. Lessened? What good does that do me? None.

LOL, lessening the damage per tick is worthless you say? Cry baby. Try cure pack B's or C's...

LOL, considering poison doesn't even do anything for 10 seconds after application, you have PLENTY of time to cure yourself and 2 or 3 other friends. And FYI... it costs a combat medic 3 times the mind to throw one poison as it does for a doc to cure one poison... and as always, area affect attacks of EVERY other profession do way more damage than area poisons over the same amount of time.... It's just that CM poison sticks untill cured. But hey, it's the one and only attack a CM gets (poison/disease) for 169 skillpoints. You want to nerf them? Fine, as long as combat medic only uses up 90 skillpoints maximum to get master and add bunches of defenses to the tree.. Otherwise the 169 skill point requirement doesn't justify the nerf.

If it did miss 1 person it didn't matter much, he threw another so quick that as I looked through the group names I saw everyone with a poison and disease logo next to their HAMs. Of course we attacked him, but anyone can tank for a little while and let the poisons and disease do their work. I was firing headshots at him like had done to 20 other rebs that day who I had little problem killing, except a few. All a CM has to do is be buffed, wear armor, a good stun helmet, have some muon, and carry blue milk around. You can use stim Ds to heal your health and action and the blue milk will keep your mind up long enough for the poisons to drain a pool.

Even when I do get a poison off of me a doc is way too slow to heal 2-3 people besides himself. You realize it takes about 8 seconds for a doc to use another antidote? You've got to show me your division sometime. You're way overpowered and everyone knows it and says it but you. That's just childish, when I'm in an overpowered profession, I'll admit it, and won't reduce myself to petty name calling like it would help me at all in arguing my point.

I don't appreciate the 'cry baby' remark and especially not from some disease-ridden, skank CM.

maybe a gas mask (biological warfareprotectant)craftable by tailors or armorsmiths, that has immunities toONLY poisons and diseases would fit the need. Crafters could experiment on the mask to increase the resistances to poisons and diseases. I say this would fit well because, if the mask had resistances to ONLY poison and disease, the user of the mask would have to sacrifice whatever resistances are on their head armor (whether it be a composite helmet or a headwrap).

On a closer level, brainstorming on this topic and replying to this post has made me realize that currently, a tusken helmet would fit this need well. It has all the looks to a gas mask, the devs could just add poison/disease resist mods on to certain uber loot tusken helms and you would have yourself a really hot item being sought after by a lot of players.

I actually think something like this would work. Only downside of wearing a gas mask is you can't wear a helmet. Get ready to have your head pwned

Well, all I can say is STFHU untill you actually play the class. I've seen the most stubbern anti-CM players recalltheir nerf cries once they actually tried out the class. Untill you become a master combat medic, you have no authority on the subject whatsoever, and have no right to cry nerf because you obviously don't know jack about jack. Read the CM forums more, you'll see this argument has been won by the combat medics a million times over. There isn't anything you or anyother crybaby can say and the DEV's have already acknowledged that the class is just fine where it's at, and are not going to touch it. So go suck your bottle and whine somewhere else that really needs a nerf (rifleman forums..ahemm). Get a life, cancel your account.

I don't want to be a CM just like I don't want to be a commando or BH, because I hate them. I may not have been one, but I sure as hell have fought against many of them and is the class who is supposed to be the anti-CM and seen how well that went. I've been reading the CM forums and you haven't won a damn single arguement, you just curse at and insult anyone who objects to the class, call them a noob, and ignore any point they make (you must be a 12 year old reb like the rest of them, that's what they consider winning too). FFS, my thread had a perfectly fine conversation going and someone locked it for no reason and no explanation. What's wrong? Was I proving you wrong too much and wanted to hide it before someone who matters came along and read it?

The devs will do something about it, they have to. If they don't you're going to see a lot of people leaving the game because a CM ruins PvP (and in a game with so little content, that's all a lot of us have). People just walk away from battles when a CM shows up cause it's pointless to fight Don't worry about my life, as soon as my account runs out, I'll be back outside with my friends while you keep hunching over your keyboard, crafting poisons and thinking you're the coolest person ever as you slander people with 'noob' comments. Skank.

LOL... do the babies EVER stop whining? Cry Cry Cry! Your brain must be the size of a pea... if that. To this date, you still have not posted ANYTHING of relevance to back up your nerf cries. "Whaaa... I got killed by a combat medic! They needs a nerf!" isn't going to cut it. I feel sorry for you and your childish jealousy. Here is a post you obviously missed that shows you the numbers if CM were to get the nerf... and how it simply would not work.

http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=combat_medic&message.id=28664

Since I doubt you'll understand the math, to make it simple, an average player with average buffs, will regenerate his average poisoned pool faster than the 75% reduced poison will damage it, thus causing ZERO damage overall. Now I know your mentality will probably accept that as a good thing, but most people will realize that it won't fly. Try posting something of substance rather than your opinion.... pftt.

I dunno about making certain skills required for poison/disease resistance. People would still scream about that, I think. Better food, as someone suggested, or the gas mask idea sounds better. (Though people would probably still scream about a gas mask... "can we get comp armor gas masks?" ) I have a serious problem with "Immunity" against poisons and diseases. We'd be useless in combat. Hi, I'm a CM, just a Doc with a cool blue ball and no buffs. Resistance ok, complete immunity, even for10ish minuteswould make us nigh useless IMO. People would just keep the mask on, or keep stuffin their faces with immunity food. Just my opinion
