be carefull what you ask for Elly.

1.) if a Stopping Shot that can be fired every second is doing 350 damage, there is nothing wrong with the power of our Master Poison

2.) how would that group have been if the Doc would have been present? probably better

3.) how come that you came within 64 meters of a group of the opposing faction without them noticing? trust me, you caught them by surprise there once but it won't happen forever. next time they will spread out and chase you as soon as you appear on Radar (~160m for me)

this tool finaly works. you spent 232 Skillpoints to make the best possible Poisons and Diseases and they better do make you able to stand up vs most of the fighting classes if you can force them to fight under your conditions. That's how everything works. A Master Fencer would still own you, if he caught you under his conditions, heck you need fencing III (Brawler line) to totaly put someone else totaly out of combat under the right conditions.

so is this powerfull? yes. is it supposed to be powerfull given the effort we have to go through to craft 1 single of those packs? hell, yes.

Secondly, the doctors need to have an effective counter for poisons. There must either be a poison timer placed in game to prevent poison spamming or Doctors need a counter to the AOE dot line in the form of a effective AOE cure pack. This will allow the doctor which was designed as the counter to the CM dot line to effective balance this ability. The packs would also need to be increased in power so they could effectively stop dots in one application. There is no reason a doctor with a level C cure pack cannot stop a lvl C poison from a CM in one application. By making these packs more powerful and linking it to the doctor wound treatment line, Doctor should ahve the ability to stop the poison of a equal or lower CM in one application with an appropriate level pack.

If you post such a thing in the CM-Forum, i believe, you are more doc than CM.

this AEO cure will make ALL the CM Skills ridiculous. AOE is the ONLY weapon in PvP for the Master CM. If there will be a Cure AOE, what is left to win a fight?

- Ranged Stims? No, a Doc can make Normal Stims, who helps in combat

- Poison? No, with your suggestion and a 50 damage tick, they not worth the ressources

- AOE? No, with AOE Cure, why should i craft those?

whats left in the CM tree?

- Revive? No, im not a doc

I suggest you, ele, that you play vs better enemies and then post here. Im master pistol, too, and i take you out in a second with no ressources needed. You only won your fights, cause you suprised your enemy at all and the werent the best.

If these points go online, you wont be able to get a surprise anymore. you'll loose every fight. and not all enemies are so weak.

...and please post these in the doc forum and post CM issues in the CM forum.

I want a DPS comparison between the highest level styles of all the hybrid/elite professions before ANYONE calls for a nerf on CM.

Elenora, who's pushing this debate is a doc/CM, she knows how to craft well, and makes the BEST poisions possible in the game.

Even then, hers are doing, what 400 damage every 8 seconds? (correct me if I'm wrong)

200 damager per second for someone who spent more points than a BH, and spends time crafting meds.
That seems about right to me. I'm sure a lot of other classes who spent less skill-points can beat that damage.

As for no LOS, I think it adds a little something to the profession. It's a tactical advantage, something to flush people out of buildings. If they have a doctor with them, you can't even do that.

If some tweaks to the area effect poisions are needed, then make those tweaks, but don't take away our LOS without some detailed examination.

Heh.. i argued a while back that dots should not be made fire and forget.. you disagreed with me on that, yet now you see the reasonI was against it.

Still havent tested it yet, as Im at work, but this was what i was afraid of happening. Now we'll probally be overnerfed back to them being pointless to use.

I tend to agree with the people that say not to call for a nerf just yet.

It's hard to make a quantitative determination of the effects of the CM changes to the overall game in one afternoon of testing.

To some degree, you probably caught some of your opponents by suprise, since this was the first time things were working in full force, and thus they probably don't have their tactics sorted out to handle the situation yet. Give it a week of play time, I'll be interested to hear if you're still owning the field, as it were.

I understand the desire to not become the target of the next "NERF THEM!" crowd, but honestly, we invest a majority of our points into CM, there should be a fair amount of power behind the class to make it worth taking as an elite profession. It seems to me they finally did put the "combat" back into Combat Medic. Maybe I won't have to take parts of Pistoleer now to be able to defend myself adequately.

The upshot is, give it some time to be played with. If it truly is overpowered, time will show that and an appropriate tuning down will occur. But don't be afraid to have power behind what should be a powerful class just because someone may get jealous and scream "Nerf!".

Well I see no issues with the CM except that poison is too much for anyone.

How are you suppose to heal 500 DoT that lasts for 7 mins? Even a Doctor has trouble doing so.

CM is a good overall prof but with this poison DoT being at this rate it's just too overpowering.

Just reduce the dmg on the poison like the PVP dmg cap and this is solved simple as that.

something like 25% of the poison's effectiveness. so even if the 500 DoT goes to only 25% dmg like pvp now that is still 125 dmg each tick that is still more dmg than most ranged weapons. I'll be fine with that over 500 dmg for 7mins anyday.

have a nice day.

I agree with many of the others here... Don't be so eager to call for a nerf on us... Granted the mind dots are a bit powerful now, but they aren't as powreful as you are making them out to be... If any of the groups had a doctor that was on top of things they would have cleared up the poisons in no time... It's not like they are some unstoppable force... And if you take a look into the health and action dots those could be being healed against as well as having the doctor remove the dot... I think you just so happened to catch them by suprise when they didn't have a strong enough team or a team that had their act together... In all reality it boils down to this: Tactics have changed... Times have changed... People will now need to play more conservative and with more tactics than they did before... And the poison removal devices that the doctors get will need to be put into use...

And as for what Oracle said... Don't want to flame you or anything but you should follow your own advice... We are not doctors who are solely evolved around healing... We are combat medics... Our class takes the 2nd most sc's of any profession to master, and that's not even including all the other secondary skills we need just to survive...

Our class is evolved about one thing... Combat... We aren't doctors or medics as I said before, we are combat medics... Our whole point of being is being able to heal and dish out damage in the line of fire... Us having our dots makes up for the lack of damage we get in being such a sc dependant class minus all of the specials... Our dots not only take forever to get to where they are by any means effective, but also require alot of time and resources to make... Unlike nearly any other professions pick up and go style... Our dots are not that overpowered considering the damage that the other specials can do, as well as the small fact that if a doctor bothered to craft the poison removal devices that they have opened up to them, the poisons would be completely obsolete... The only problem many are seeing is this: It's mind damage... Mind damage can't be healed... I say oh well to this... The poison can be healed even if the damage can't... Other classes have bleeds that are a dot in themselves, and each of the lines targets a different pool... Not to mention the several other specials, i.e. knockdown, that they have available to them...

I think its time for the other classes to change their tactics rather than cry for nerf...

I for one would give up mind dots in an instant if we were giving a mind heal in return. Alternatively i'd settle for a boost to health and action poisions, and just eliminate our ability to attack the mind pool.

I don't agree with the assertion that a combat medic shoudln't be able to take out players even though they have a limited amount of weapon skill. In a sense, the combat medic is the only offensive "casting" class in the game. DoTs should be powerful since they take time to do their damage. The only thing that is imbalancing their DoTs is the fact the mind pool can't be healed. Honestly, are there any complaints to the damage that health and action DoTs pose in pvp?

Let's be clear what the problem is here. It's not the magnitude of damage that's the problem, it is the fact that the damage is occurring to the mind pool. Thus, either keep the dots like they are and give mind healing to another class, such as a doctor, or just eliminate the ability to target the mind pool. Nerfing damage on DoTs is not the answer as it overnerfs the cause of the problem.

I will say that knowing Oracle like I do, if he feels that this is a major pvp problem, then it probably is. If a DAoC Cabilist is complaining about the power of DoTs then you know there's a problem

First How did I get the jump on a group of rebs even when they new i was there?!

simple, nonLOS...i kept building between me and the enemy the whole time, then got within 40m and let the AOE rip and was out and back under cover before I took I hit.

Second, my shouldnt't dots do as much as stoppingshot? Stopping shot is LOS...if u are LOS that means u can be attacked...it means that u can be knocked down...

I was sitting behind walls and in building no one got a shot in on me....

My suggestion for AOE cures for doctors was in order to balance the damage we do now if they decide to keep our damage output as it is...

The fact is dots are extremely powerful and therefore justified an appropriate counter...the cure line in the doctor. Now given that it takes 3 applications by a master doctor to counter act a C poison and i can repply that dot instantly, basically cure line is crap.

Now i know we have all suffered with the issues of being underpowered, but do you really wanna be the cheapest class out there? Right now its fire and forget and I win...

Im not even adressing the H or A dots because honestly those are healable...

this goes back to the very argument we had on this thread about people attacking a unhealable pool, mind damage. Right now there is NO counter for a lvl C mind dot not even for a master doctor. Now this is far worse than KD spamming was ever pre patch...i mean we never even have to see a opponent to kill them.

Mind damage is really the issue....there is nothing tactics can do if i drop in a AOE dot on u...and u cant even hid from it since its LOS...How do u fight a weapon that doesnt need LOS and cant be healed effectively...

Right now mind damge is unhealable, doctors have NO effective way to cure mind dots and LOS is utterly abusable...it makes no sense that I can own 20+ rebels when they are all hunting for me....

LOS issue aside, the fact that docs cannot keep up with our poisons is a problem. I agree with Elenora, in order to avoid our poisons getting nerfed into the realm of 75% reduction there needs to be a counter. I agree that Docs should get AoE cures, but like all AoE these should be weaker then a single target cure. Also, a Cure C should be able to nuetralize a poison C in one shot. B to B, A to A. Then maybe it will take 2x B to cue a C and 4x As to cure a C as well. AoEs could work like cure C would heal As and Bs in one shot, but might take 2 or 3 to cure a C...ect,ect. This way there would be an effective counter and poisons won't go back to doing 50% the damage of a bleed.

exactly my point...

I havent even really mentioned H and A because, well why is there even a reason to use them right now...I could do 600 H or A and that would be healed easy...

but i got 300 mind and its more powerful then a 600 H or A...

Fact is that dots shouldnt front load the damage so much. It would be more like...

first tick 25% of max 2nd tic 50% 3rd tic 75% 4th and onward 100% At least that would give a sense of damage over time. It would also make the dots what they should be a siege breaking weapon...Dots in fast paced combat under 1 mins shouldnt make a huge effect...thats not what they are meant for....but if u let a dot run its course on u, you better get it healed or it will kill u...right now its toss and it will kill u no matter what...

oh another fact my mind C lasts for a good 15 mins...
