I agree completly. Now read what CSR said:

csr-christofer tells you 'basicly poison is considered harrasment right now, not an exploit, you can /report someone who uses it.'

So if you poison someone from behind the walls - it's not exploit and after report they will investigate it as harrasment - which is what pro-LOS people (myself including) been trying to tell you.

Im confident this CSR is referring to the TEF bug, not the NON-LOS poisoning.

You guys are missing the point of that conversation. The point is not the CM using poison, point was the CM was able to do it through walls. The whole argument was about the people inside the house using the house itself to set up ambushes on the people outside. The person on the inside was complaining that it was the same as the CM being able to poison them through the walls.

I tend to agree that CM should have LOS blocked. I also agree with the CSR that these people should not be able to run in a house and execute zergs against the people outside, especially if they are doing this from a faction base. Of course if the base itself was attackable and destroyable, then this would not be an issue. Since buildings are magically indestructable and perfect safe havens then I would have to agree with the CSR are on this one.

you see, here you have the very reason we are not required to have LoS and can use it from and into buildings. currently a CM is the only weapon to kill such an ambush.

a TKM + Master Doc sitting in Anchorhead Cloning Centre, killing off everyone that gets within 15 meters of the entrance and there is nothing you can do about it? call a CM. oh, that CM got LoS removed? to bad, clone, go covert and wait for the TKM to go get bored and move out.

the thing is, you contradict yourself there:

  • people should not be allowed to use buildings to set up ambushes .... but:

  • CM's should not be able to counter such ambushes

what do you want?

Michael: how about a damage reduction for Poisons not applied within LoS.. this would settle this issue on a fair compromise, no?

hey wasnt lesser damage with no LOS one of my suggestions!!!!

i still think that CMs need to keep non-LOS application to poison for siege fights where people are bunkered up in buildings...if not, then no one will ever be able to destroy pc created factional bases....

Don't take what any CSR says as gospel, they've been publicly shown to be flat-out stupid and wrong before (see, theft and scamming policy). Doesn't mean he is wrong, but he could be.

Now stop whining about it being an exploit.

Thanks for the post on this .. I'm hitting the discussion forums with this.. this is the kinda crap I'm talking about .. that I get from playing a CM.. however it's usually from players.. I would love to hear Holo's remarks on this one..

My thoughts;

Not yours.

Have to admit, although I am not particularly fond of the non-LOS thing, but don't Police and so on use Chemical grenades to "smoke" people out of building? Maybe the damage should be cut slightly on PVP effectiveness of poisons, but as an intelligent player, I wouldn't want to walk into an ambush without being able to use my poisons in advance. That's just asking to die.
