WOW 9 or more pages...hmmm I just wanted to mention because I did not see it on page one or two that if you only have 1 action, health, or mind you cannot fire your weapon. Because last I checked they all used some of each ham. So just getting one stat to 1 would help. Although this does not stop them from healing, but at I wanted to bring that point up at lest.

HAM costs are only used for specials. It does not damage use to use plain jane regular attacks.

And besides that, if you're poisoning health/action it's asimple matter of waiting for the CM to come in when you're at 1 HAM and 'stim-special-dead CM'. If you're poisoning Mind it's a simple 'muon-special-dead CM'. All it takes is a little forethought and halfway decent timing.

I saw so many people spewing this "It's only 1 point of damage" and "they can't do specials at 1 HAM' blah blah. Well, thanks to a holo telling me to master Marksman I ended up dropping CM. I then went on to pick up novice Commando and Novice TK.

Since that time I have fought 8 combat medics. I have killedalmost allof them About half of them tried the old poison-kite maneuver and then rush in when i'm at 1 point to deliver a killing blow. At which point I either stimmed or spiced and proceeded to smash the poor CM. Two tried to stay in range and fire with weapons also, but either they weren't that high in their secondary combat prof or just didn't know how to fight better than spam X special. The last two poisoned from beyond 64m, ducked out of range and then watched me burst run away and couldn't find me. Then I holed up until the poison went away.

Maybe it's because I was a Combat Medic that I know how to handle them well. Maybe it's just because I have a plan on how to deal with any class I come across. I win, I lose, but the one thing I never do is cry when things don't go my way.

Folks, when these people come in here crying about how they were beaten by a Combat Medic and that CM's are overpowered, don't believe them. Since leaving CM and trying these other profs I believe I can safely say that CM's are seriously gimped, unless they are fighting people whose idea of combat is 'Spam special-Spam special-stand around-how'd I just die?'.

Even as a CM, I would worry about fighting other CM's. Now that I'm not one, and with the +1HAM nerf, I have no fear at all of a combat medic's poison. And that just feels sad to me

I worked for2 motnh on this CH. Now I have to think what else to play. CM is not worth anything anymore.

CM has no money.

CM needs to run for resources all the time.

CM sucks in PvE

CM sucks now in PvP

CM is ok in healing.

Why play a CM.

Do missions like everyone else. Or sell top notch Sim Bs for a minimum of 15cpu profit.

Not if you buy them from resource dealers. Again simply sell quality stim b and c and you can easily pay for your resources.

CM sucks in PvE

True, but it's one of the best classes to have in a group and for making money, and pvp groups are way better. Especially with a CM to back the group up.

CM sucks now in PvP

False. Just becaues you have to throw 2 poison packs to pwn 20 people instead of 1 doesnt mean you suck. Action poison + mind poison downto 1 point and they cant heal their action.. They cant do special moves, and they go down easy.Of course against 20 people you might actually have to get a hunting partner now. *gasp*

CM is ok in healing.

Ranged heals blow regular heals away in any group setup, and top notch Stim Ds will heal plenty to make up for not being a doc with stim es.

Why play a CM.

Because they're great group addition, very powerful in pvp, and a unique class in many ways. Only downside is all the complainers.

Did you EVER even played CM?!?
Any group of 5+ people will have 2200 doc with them - he will cure your poison from the group of 5 in 20 seconds - that's (4+4+8+8 - 24 > 20) BEFORE your second poison even get to tick second time, they can ignore you as insignificant. Add to the fact that you can't actually KILL anyne withough being good carbiner/pistoller/rifleman...

Ihave friends who play CM, and I have been IN the group of (not 5 but 20+) people who had a doctor. Guess how many people he got to cure poison on after the whole group got nailed by ae mind poison. Himself. Everyone else was incap by the 2nd or 3rd tic. 550 mind poison per tic (that was ticcing off every 2 seconds). And that's assuming the doc is ready to heal himself when he gets nailed. At the very least he'll most likely sustaine at least 1 tic of dmg. How is he going to heal everyone with no mind pool?

And lastly: any group of 5+ against just 1 CM should definitely wipe the floor with you. So in your example you SHOULD lose. If you're not alone and you are in a group of at least 3+ (which is what it should take to take out a group of 5+) then the 2200 doc will most likely have alot more to think about than the poison and even if he does he'll have to chase down people who are most likely running around fighting your comrades.

>(that was ticcing off every 2 seconds).

I wish my poison ticked every 2 seconds. Tell you're CM friend or whatever to tell me his secret to making poisons that work that fast. Face it, Cm's are just about worthless now (yes, I've been one since soon after launch), we've been relegated to be long range stim dispensers..yeah, that's worth all those skill points I put into the class.

#1 There is no poison that ticks every 2 seconds.
#2 That was BEFORE the patch when doctors got bump in cure poison
#3 That was BEFORE the patch when people are no longer getting incapped.

"a friend had his group killed once by CM"... I swear one more message like that an dI am going to BH/smuggler/commando/new FOTM class and asking to nerf them to oblivion.

In fact I will start with smuggler - I suggest you can't use specials when spiced up, you are under influence of drugs, and +5000 to mind/action from Muon Gold brings anyone into "god" mode, to combat it I propose a simple solution - if you used spices - you can't do specials (since you benefit from higher pool stats).

But you diverge and hijack the thread with your childish argument. What YOU should be posting here is your experience (bug) with the +1 change.

Since you're too busy to do it I will:

MichaelF77 reported in another thread that he put a poison on an NPC which dragged the NPC bar down to 1 hp supposedly. He immediately did 350 dmg (which should have distributed at least 35 dmg to the mind pool which was poisoned before). The thing \did not die, however, and it was a crippling shot that took it down (definitely was not at 1 mind point unless it had wacky insane regen). If this is true it is a bug that needs to be addressed.

As for your argument... you're welcome to go to any of the boards and asked to have nerfed what you think is overpowered. If you truly think it is overpowered I ENCOURAGE you to do so:

However, you ignorance is amusing but it is not helping your argument at all. Just because you dont like to hear about CMs taking out groups of 10+ people doesnt mean it wasn't happening. And if you were too inept to do it yourself that does not mean it was not an issue.

Doctors NEED MIND to heal poison. If they get hit by a tic of pioson then cure themselves and maybe 1 other person, the other 10 people are still getting raped by the poison while they sit there and try to regen enough mind to go heal them (or if you're smart and are not solo ((in which case you should get raped by any group of people)) or have rifleman skills you can take out the doc witha mindshot)...

As for nerfing smugglers that's hilarious. If there is anything that could be considered overpowered its definitely NOT spices LOL. That again shows your ignorance.

The problem I have with the +1 change is that we are now the only combat profession that is required to use another class to kill anything. As stated previously the odds of killing anything with novice marksman weapons are slim to none. This requires us to take another combat profession to kill anything.

That being said when trained in another combat profession, and played properly, we are a force to be reconed with. Since the patch I still have a 50/50 chance of killing any profession one on one. I have no doubts this number will raise since I have had to change weapons (Used a sword so if people ran to me I droped them and if they ran away the poison did. Now trying to grind the rifle tree)

It's all about tatics. If they are a commando just don't get close, BH pray your helment holds out, Rifleman...still trying to figure out how to drop a Master rifleman (although using blocking terrain does help some). And if you know you are dead toss a disease, that way you know that either they have someone kill them or they sit in the med center for awhile.
