Thread: Give Master Combat Medics a limited Mind heal ability
perfect fit don't you think?
Now just let us medics do it too.
Giving combat mind healing to entertainers is a horrible idea. Most entertainers are social creatures who shy away from combat. They like image designing, tailoring, and general chatting. It is by nature a social profession NOT a combat profession. I am for combat medics getting the ability to heal all HAM bars thus no weapon would be overpowered. Elenora (sorry if i mispell your name) I have lost a duel to a rifleman who was of equal skill to me (according to advancement in skill trees)and also had master medic. This is because he could heal his damage but i couldn't heal his. What should have been at least a half way fair fight was a blowout against me. So I suggest the following:
1) Create a method of healing all HAM bars by using a stimpack plus a different HAM bar. For example use mind to heal action, action to heal health, and health to heal mind . . .
How do we cut back on chain healing?
2) Implement diminishing returns on heals done during a short period of time to the same person's pool. That is to say that if I continually heal someone's mind bar by using my health bar I will quickly reach a point where it is costing me far more health than they are getting mind.
ne1 esle notice that in all honesty mind damge is less of a concern with more and more master combat professions running around...
ne1 every fight a smuggler and notice they spam panic shot to death so u cant even counter attack?
ne1 fight a BH just to have him flameshot u and then watch as it literally burned ur H bar to black?
ne1 fight a pistoleer just to have him spam pistol melee defense so u couldnt heal?
how about carabine aoe knockdown?
lol game is just ridiculous...specials are nice andpretty in PvE...in PvP its making things a joke...

What do you think about this ?
All single target stimpackmay heal Mind, but it apply only if the target is incapacited in the Mind pool.
So if someone is incapacited you must use a single target stimpack, instead of AE stimpack. This is available for Medic and Doctor too but, since they don't have ranged stimpacks, it's a lot more dangerous.
So you can't perma heal another Medic or your Mind pool.
how much would it heal for? and how much mind would it take to use?
whats the cost to use it?
is it a full mind heal or a minor mind heal? be more specific
I've had to leave my PC for a few weeks, but before I did I reached Master Medic with the intent on becoming a CM...I say that as I'ma little out of the loop so pardon me if I'm ignorant of some post or fact...
Earlier in this thread, someone mentioned the fact that the massive mind damage and one-shot kills have been in since beta, and the devs didn't pay too much attention to it then. I was wondering why developers would leave one-shot kills in a game, and I thought it might have been for a touch of realism....
If a sniper, or even someone who has 'simply' mastered some type of combat with a ranged weapon, takes a shot at you (and you weren't prepared...),for the sake of a little realism, it doesn't seem unreasonable to me that one shot can take you down...
When I think of this, a scene in Episode VI: ROTJ comes to mind (pardon the pun...hehe)...when Han and Leia and the commando team were attempting to destroy the shield generator on Endor, all hell breaks loose andblaster fire goes everywhere. In one quick moment, Leia looks around and sees a storm trooper sitting atop an AT-ST taking potshots and quickly aims and fires at him. Very cool shot, a head shot as a matter of fact, and she kills him in one hit (despite the armor). In game terms, I'm thinking his mind pool was wiped out "toute de suite".
If you think about all or most of the other shots that the heroes of the Star Wars galaxy made, they either missed, or dropped their opponent.
Now, I'm not saying that this doesn't need to be looked at more closely (if nothing else, to keep CM's a viable class), but for the sake of a little realism in the 'game', what about looking at it another way? Getting hit by a blaster bolt from a master comabatant should put a little fear in us, so maybe we shouldn't be concerned with healing mind damage, so much as very concerned with AVOIDING those nasty shots.
What if we asked the devs for better dodging abilities, better awareness so we can avoid those surprise sniper blasts ("....I've got a bad feeling about this..."), more avoidance bonuses from taking cover or going prone...at least for PvP and faction conflict...
I am going to continue onto Comabt Medic so I want the class to thrive, so I'm not trying to cause any trouble, I guess I just think a one-shot kill by a Bounty Hunter is realistic. As I mentioned above, this may have already covered and thrown out, but I'm curious if there's another solution along with or even without a limited mind healing ability....
Comment/flame away...
there is nothing wrong with realism...
but the fact is a game if it wants to maintain a good balance of classes need to maintain a good balance of power between the classes...
no one likes to constantly lose...if they did they would quit or remake a character that would not. Hence if u havent noticed and u might not have since u have been gone...this game is slowly turning into a 4-5 class game...CH, BH, Rifle, Pistoleer and smugglers...its because these classes have abilities that basically make fighting them a joke...
no do i think a sniper should kill people in one shot in real life? yes..
do i think they should do it in a game like this where u have many classes avaible ? no..why because if u have a few classes that are so much stronger than everyone else, i promise u it will lead to 2 things...one people will roll power classes and the diversity in the game will disappear, two, people that dont want to be these power classes will quit...
its already happening...
go on ur server and do some character searchs for say CM, commando or squad leader then do some for Pistoleer, thenCH and BH then tell me if u dont see a difference
- how much would it heal for?
It's depending of the Stimpacks used. But this apply only if the target is mind incapacited.
- and how much mind would it take to use?
Normal mind use as for normal healing.
- whats the cost to use it?
No special cost
- is it a full mind heal or a minor mind heal? be more specific
It's not a full or a minor healing. It's depending the stimpack used. Better is the stimpack, more you are healing that pool.
As Medic you can gain Mind back in only one situation :you must be incapacited in the Mind pool. If you are the only medic in your group, there is no change. If someone have a small medic capacity (Stimpack B) he can heal you but you don't gain a bunch of Mind (like 100-300 Mind). If there is another High Medic in the group, yesif that is the case, you can be full healed. Now a cap can be applied too, such 50% of the Mind Pool.
Atleast it give us an ability to cure the Mind Incapacity, and i don't think it's so powerfull.
And don't forget this at all, if you are 3 times incapacited in 10 minutes you die... And it's the only way to get Mind back ...
p.s. : I hope my English isn't too bad. ![]()
