Thread: A possible CM... change.

Ok, I know that everyone can be a bit testy about the subject of 'changes', or 'nerfs', if you prefer, but hear me out.


Soon, DoTs, Flames, etc... will be subjected to resists. Thats right, bleeds will no longer ignore armor. EXCEPT CM bleeds, they dont even have a damage type.


So, why not give CMs poisons and diseaces a resist type? It could be the missing Restraint type damage!


I know, you guys say that Doctors can already heal your poisons, your getting a 75% PvP damage reduction, etc... but, guess what? The rest of us already have these! Docs can heal our damage too!! We've had a PvP reduction for a l-o-o-ong time.


Give CM poison's a damage type!

We're not getting a 75% damage reduction


Restraint wouldn't make sense at all


I'd be all for a new armor layer to resist poison or diseases (you should have to choose which to protect most against) and it would have to be as crappy as stun layers are as far as %ages go(also AP wouldn't factor at all into this, just straight resists). But this would only be viable if they removed the cho nor hoola food so we don't end up getting resisted too much.

Ok, the restraint idea was just because restraint doesnt have anything going for it.


I could have sworn I read somewhere CM poisons were getting a 75% PvP reduction - like everyone else. Maybe i'm wrong.


As for it would have to be a crappy resist like stun - give CMs the choice of resists. For a lower DPS, they could have stun damaging poisons (dont ask me how that works, but whatever). For a higher DPS, they would have to have some higherly resisted stat, etc.

CM's are not getting a 75% reduction because anyone with half a brain that isnt a whiney nerf baby knows its a stupid thing to implement.

Kraghon, how is a 75% damage reduction for CMs stupid? Everyone else got it because PvP was over in a matter of seconds. Now, with CMs, PvP is over in a matter of seconds - no matter how large the group is, even with docs.

Its stupid cause no other profession does that low of damage. The problem isnt the poison damage, its that it hits the mind pools, if poisons only hit health and action we wouldnt be having this conversation. This is supposed to be "addressed" in the combat balancing so relax and deal with it until then. I notice you havent mentioned that CM's dont get 75% more damage outside of PvsP like everyone else, you just scream nerf. CM's do 500 damage per tick in PvsP, 500 damage per tick in PvsE. Commandos do 1100 damage in PvsP, 5000 in PvsE. Hows that fair? Oh thats right you just want us nerfed instead of fixed.

Firstly, Khragon: You are no better than mindless nerf criers. Firstly, I wasnt calling nerf, I was proposing a change to CM. The problem isnt that poisons hit mind, the main problem is accually the AoE poisons.


Secondly, Commandos have to be 16 meters away to use their DoTs. You can be 64 meters away. Commandos PvP damage isnt comparable to your AoE PvP damage.


Thirdly, what do you want fixed? You didnt state anything that needed fixing.

I'll answer this one, It's stupid because the DPS would be worse then the CDEF starting pistol. would you pay 169 points for ranged healing and a cdef pistol. You would have to be stupid to spend all those points to do such little damage.


As it stands poison has a very low DPS on the curve.


Another point, poison is a damage type. If you keep up to date on your info you would know that there is going to be new food with a very high poison/desease resist. That's right 2 resists for the price of one. Joy!


Here's something you can take to the bank, CM will not get a 75% reduction, it wont happen.

Something like a resist for poison/diseasetypefor armor would work, but!! They are coming with foods.


And poison/disease is our (class) weapon..

Would it help if a correspondent said he is not aware of any 75% PvP reduction being put on medical DoTs.....for the 20th time?


I am not aware, at this time, of any damage reduction being applied to medical DoTs. In fact, it was recently stated by Devs and OK'd for public release that they are comfortable with medical DoT damage and see no need to change it.


Patch 6, currently on test center, has not brought any reduction on medical DoT effects from previous patches.

Tell ya what, give every profession a 75% reduction IN ALL DAMAGE across the board. I mean every profession, TKA< Bounty Hunter, Rifleman, all of them, PVP, PvE. Everyone gets lowered 75%.


Then I think a 75% reduction for us in PvP would be acceptable. Only PvP mind you.

Pahdbacca - the main reason of the post wasnt to talk about a 75% PvP reduction to poisons. Sorry if I was wrong about that, but that wasnt the main issue.
