Thread: Novice Pikemen are more powerfull Combat Medics than Master Combat Medics!

There is an LVA with a Mind Poison DOT that is at 598 Strength and 223% Potency with 18K uses for sale on the Lowca Forum... well, last I checked, that's the going master combat medic poison strength (non-spider-venom) using all advanced components. Does anyone else here think that infringes on our class just a little too much? Combat medic in a stick without using the skillpoints... The new uber template is Doc 4,0,0,0 (to cure poison&disease),Novice Pikeman with a 600 damage mind poison DOT weapon, and Master Fencer (and maybe master brawler). Why spend 169 skillpoints to be a combat medic when you can basically the same results from a simple loot item?
I TOLD them they should have made our spherical space station out of the same magnetically shielded walls as the garbage compactor! -Sleksheea

There are many reasons. If you consider master combat medic effectiveness, that is equivilent to a 300 effectiveness poison, which is very craftable. Not to mention that combat medic poisons are not dependent on loot drops, has ranged poisoning, and a better area of effect. On the down side, you have issues with poisons being more expendable, fewer defenses, etc., and comparing classes is not that simple.
However, if you arestrictlycomparing poison to poison, the additional range and eqivilent effectiveness makes combat medic poisons stronger than that LVA you listed.

A MCM can get higher with exceptionally good resources. That lance however is pretty good and I assure you is *not* a simple loot item.
The only problem with the weapons is the DOT can be used after the weapon has brokenand the charges on this weapon make itinfinite (more or less). If you know the weapon has been broken (0/X condition or 1/1 condition) and the DOT still is working you can contact a CSR. While they may or may not take the weapon away there is presidence for confiscating weapons that have broken and are still being used for the DOT effect.

yeah nevermind the fact that a lance like that is SUPER rare. I personally have killed thousands of ns, never have i looted lance of that caliber

that is an 'exceptional' lance, and thats 1 of 2 that i know of that has a mind poison thats similar to that strength on lowca
combat medics can throw from 70m, whilepikeman have too get in range to hit them and have a chance of missing

Pikeman have to find these uber loot DoT drops to be effective. Without DoTs, Pikeman have a very hard time even surviving in PvP, and its still tough in PvE. That's an exceptional loot drop, one that I can assure you, most Novice Pikeman do not have. Don't go accusing pikeman of cheapening your proffession. You can make your own poisons and diseases and throw them long distance and have an area effect, while pikeman have to be lucky enough to chance upon an awesome loot drop to get a weapon that they have to be at close range and be lucky enough to hit with to land a DoT.

how does a 4000 doc have the med use for poisons diseases etc? surely 4030 doc is correct.
Such lances as the one you mentioned are one in several thousand. Also i'd love to duel a novice pikeman with an uber dot lance and see how long it would take him to hit me (i'm master fencer) at novice pikeman your speed and accuracy will be appalling. And as others have said dots are pretty much the only way pikemen can damage anyone significantly.

Very true about the accuracy, that is one of the hardest things to work around when getting up to Novice Pikeman. Even at novice, speed and accuracy are terrible.
Yes, this lance is comperable to CM posions, is a "bomb" droid infringing on CH teritory? Why should something like that damage so greatly?

Don't be stupid
First of all any CM with great ressources can craft something like that ... 600-800/tick are common poison .. and I've seen some 1200/tick
Second .. this is a freaking uber RARE weapon .. saying Pikeman are better than CM because of ONE Weapon is like saying Carbineer are the most dangerous class because of that Legendary Carbine with a 1800str Mind poison that was looted on a server (Bria I think ?? or was it Bloodfin ?)
Third .. If the guy is NOVICE Pikeman he has close to no chance to hit his target ... speed is incredibly slow and a looted LVA have a -45 Range mod ...
Fourth .. Pikeman has no 96m range with a 32m AoE .. you can kit them easilly
Now .. I'm not saying this weapon is not overpowered .. it completly is ... IMO even a Dot with 200str 70% Potency is ... well at the current Buff/Composite/AllinTheMind state even
But Saying Novice Pikeman are more overpowered than CM because of ONE Exceptionnal Weaponis completly R I D I C U L O U S

LMAO, a CM complaining about someone elses profession being overpowered as a CM nine outta ten times we don't even see u guy's before it's too late with 600-800 ticks then runn'in, at least a pikeman actually stands to fight and u have a fair enough time to kill him instead of him kiteing u,
Besides the average pikeman has nothing close to this in strength or potency. It's just a rare looted pike with one lucky $%^ pikeperson I hope owning it. Plz do a little research before posting you'd be doing us all a favor thnx.
