Thread: The Post-Patch CM Crafting Thread
right. However, this is the PERFECT opportunity for all of us to try it out so we can say what we do and dont like about it.
I dont ever go to test center, cause i dont want to grind another char, and it takes up 2 gigs of my space.
If nobody wants to comment on the good and the bad, and instead we all just shout down any crafting changes at all, i guess weget tolive with it.
I made some Advanced Infection Amplifers with bad materials to see what it was like.
Titantium Aluminum OQ 343 DR 86
Electon Cas OQ 460 DR 160
Before the change:
Effectiveness: 28 (Used 4 experimentation points, Had 6 Left over)
After the change:
Efectiveness: 24 (Used the 11 experimentation points I had)
I think its important to note that it took more experimentation points to get a worse result.
15% drop in effectiveness for 275% more experimentation points.
Doesn't seem like a good deal to me.
Addison, Master Combat Medic, Radiant
Before patch i got 59 on my AIA, after the patch i got 63.. but the other parts is harder to get any good from.
o boy i shoulda read this first i just loaded a schematic for 1000 infection amplifiers thinking that it was the resources that were probably the problem ugh .. oh well![]()
wow - that sucks so much - the resources should be relatively similar across servers, however the BEST class 1 and tolium the have spawned on chimera are:
Tolium: 586 OQ / 757 DR
Class 1: 602 OQ / 441 DR 559 PE (and this spawned 102 days ago... i.e. no-one has any left to use as 'BER 14' hadnt been invented back then lol!)
Chimera seems to have crap resources for everything lol
But, unfortunately, it was indeed shouted down.
I commend you for at least testing it for the day that it's on live
And, anyone else, please do so as well. Y'never know..this could've been very good for us if it had made it in.

Yeah, Kragen that OQ999 Titanium Aluminium really sucks.
And that Yavin Fiberplast we had, with 3 stats in the 900's, that really sucked too.
Oh, and our Omnific.. radioactives were really bad too.
And don't start me on about the Xiroo Dolovite, since we're talking CM resources not Doc ones.

The problem here, Essa, was that our resources are not ideal for everything but our IA on Chimaera.
With the old system - non-ideal resources still got 7% per experiment point.
With the new system - only ideal 900+ resources get 7% per experiment point.
So, for most of my stuff that I tested last night, I was getting 5-6% per experiment point. The net result was less effective poisons and diseases.
What it did mean is that for some key things where we have good resources (like our Evisa, OQ999 Aluminium used in the Injection Amplifiers you mention), we can still get 7% per pt **AND** we can push past the previous limits by getting Amazing Successes.
The net effect of the crafting change for me was this:
On the stuff where the resource is more "generic", such as the Stim-B, I could use 950/950+ resources in the final combine and get much better results.
If this crafting balance pass was needed as part of a whole-game balance pass, I wouldn't complain. (Oh alright, I'd grumble and moan a bit for a month or two, then get used to it).
But on its own, it did reduce our effectiveness (and indeed the effectiveness overall of crafted goods).
Vortexla - I am more concerned about the anomalies we spotted while it was in. For example:
1 Amazing success = AdvIA 63
4 Amazing success = AdvIA 59 (!?)
For inexplicable reasons, quality started going down again. This must be a bug. Whether you report bugs not in systems that are in use, is entirely up to you
As for the bug reporting, feel free to report it. It may give the Devs information they can use to fine tune the change if they ever decide to go back that route.
