Hi guys, my wife has decided to take up the CM prof, and i have no idea on how to help her lvl up quickly. She is almost full marksman and is a master medic, so im guessing tonite she will start on CM.
Good choice, I hope she enjoys getting hate-tellsOr just want to play a fun profession and don't care about what lamers say.
Can ne1 out htere point me to a link, or give a quick run down on what u need to do to lvl up quicker than plugging away in groups for a month.
There is a post about powerleveling a bit down. Can't remember the url though. But I'll throw in a few of the standards hints.
A list of minerals/organics (rought totals) needed, as i don't know if she would need to grind making stims to lvl up a bar, like with medic.
Complete list of resources below. For grinding purposes use ABEC's (Tatooinian Fiberplast and Lokian Wild Wheat). If you can get a big supply of grind quality CM resources cheaply Advanced Infection Amplifiers give more XP once you can build them, but they use Tolium Gas and Titanium Aluminum. I recommend sticking with ABEC's grinding CM-crafting doesn't take all that much time.
I know, i will get flamed on this, but she has little patience and I am trying to make this as enjoyable as i can for her.

There are two methods of gaining medical experience for a Combat Medic. Either by healing. That is the standard procedure, either heal damage or wounds. The post on leveling that I mentioned earlier had one poster recommending diseaseing two stats and then using woundpacks to heal them.
The other method used is (well we are COMBAT medics after all) dealing damage. When you apply poison you gain medical XP. The great part is that you gain medical XP regardless if the target has any pool left to loose or not.
So: Buff upp, put on you best armor, go find a lair of really inoffensive little greencons and pull them out of the lair. Then unequip your weapon (or equip a weapon you're not certified for if you are an unarmed sort of person) and poison away. When you can use area poisons you will start to rake in XP in huge ammounts.
Personally I just followed a friend leveling pistoleer around healing him as he was attacking yellow and red con monsters.

Having a few CH tanks does really help the CM. We don't really shine when it comes to defenses. What will your wife do for the rest of her skill points?
It might be the place to point out that at least one of you should have surveying, preferable at level 4. Getting your friends to survey for you can be a real bother.
And remember that your wife as soon as she earns novice CMwill bea part of "the unholy poisoners brother-/sisterhood" and must rally to our defenses on these here forums whenever required ![]()
Really useful post! I started up a second account and am making my character a Doc/CM. Working on Doc first, but this is great advice for the CM part. I've been having my other character tumble for me in my house, but I never even thought of Wounds.
Thanks a ton!

I was planning on buffing, so I guess this well save time and I'll make a ton of cash while getting my CM xp. Even better!
That is so unfair! I lost a ton of cash while becoming a CM... I wish I had gone your way
Actually, I didn't do it that way either. I was a master doc first, but made no money at all while leveling CM. In fact, I was too impatient to wait for the 2 master CMs that my guild already had to come online when I was ready to train and ended up paying to train every skill with an NPC trainer. I did get XP by buffing, but I just can't tolerate selling buffs, so only buff my friends and I don't charge them.

CM and doc use the same XP, so if you're getting Doc first, the you can always buff to level CM. If you can stand sitting around buffing people, you'll make money and level CM at the same time.
