OK, this load of crap has to go. I'm sick of it. Log in a guildmates Doc/CM to make the 2 of us some CM meds.
Shaput hunters have a nest 20m from the factory. Hmmmmmm, 3 Rebel Spec op marines about 400m away. If worse comes to worse and I get agro, I can make a run for it and the marines will help me out.
Loading up the schematic......got agro....time to make a run for it....but will toss an area poison to soften him up and hit the rest of the bunch first. Area C torpedo.....away.
Run for the marines. Rooted! One Mississippi......two Mississippi.....three Mississippi.
Ouch! Taking a beating here. Firing away with a damned good FWG5 pistol (too bad this tood can't afford novice Pistoleer to get an AP1 pistol.) My +2 melee defense with no mitigation isn't helping me out much here. I need a heal. /healdamage self. Turns out my guildmate doesn't have any small stimpacks in his inventory, only ranged stims.

Boy...that TN skill sure would be helping out a lot....IF I COULD MOVE AT ALL!
Turns out I took more damage while rooted than what I healed.
100m away from the rebs and down to 80 health. I hate myself for entering the command. /healdamage self
60m away from the marines...they start to open fire.
Rooted! One Mississippi......two Mississippi.....three Mississippi. Gah! what the hella kinda area poison is my guildmate using? No wonder he agreed to let me craft the stims!
So....if you were a shaput hunter, besides shaving your behind and walking backwards, what would you do? Forget the spec ops guys...meat is too tough. Nice juicy +2 melee D double master no armor wearing, didn't thing he would have to buff to do 3 factory runs 20m from his house wookie right next to him.
Incapped.
The marines finsh off the hunter. I go back to the factory. 2 hunters there with no health, but 3 more have spawned after I shoot the other 2. Isn't this going to be fun.........
So, out of the 5 combat abilities as a master CM....4 of them root me, and the fifth causes mind wounds. Unless they put in factory run innocs.....lets push a little harder to get rid of this root crap.

Yes those damn CM animations have got to go. Why are CM the only profession that their specials require you to stop and smell the roses!
All I have to say is thank god I have a the mil pack /w mods and killer set of Composite armour.
Try a Kimo lair or Kimos fighting it out near or on my factories.

I got owned checking my harvesters because of animation rooting me. I was on Dantooine, hurtons aggro on me, went to toss area health poison, and I got rooted for like 3 seconds, and all 3 hurtons were able to close in on me and work me.

Most professions have this problem, but most of them are very short delays and they never happens if you already are moving

All melee professions have this same issue but the difference is that it is not noticable and still lets them perform the special if they are already moving.

I've never gotten rooted when ranged stiming myself... but aside from this, its a good point.

To be fair, Carbineers have a similar rooting effect for ChargeShot (and they have to be standing in order to perform that shot). But yes...I agree that the rooting has to go. Especially since we have to be inside 62m...inside 45m for most people's poisons...

Yeah. Used to be a master carbineer and got the second box in bount hunter. It just didn't seem as bad.
I'm probably cranky pants today today, but like I said. Of the 5 things CMs do actively, 4 root and one gives mindwounds. Emotes are teh k3wl but so is stayiing alive long enough to enjoy them.

Im kinda surprised a Commando hasnt chimed in to talk about their delay between specials. It is about 6 seconds if I remember correctly and thats from 16m. Not that Im defending animation delays. They sucked as a Commando and they still suck as a CM.

Yes it is. You can't move at all when that animation fires. I am thinking it might have been intentional to reduce server lag/range issues.

Yep, luv that cute lil throw animation....NOT lol
All profs may have a rooted type animation, but all of ours do it pretty much, so its not like we have much choice
Just stand there and be a big ole target, heck it even drops you out of a burstrun to toss the thing.
