I have read some things here in the Combat MEdic forum by people who want to drop the profession because its not as good as Doctor, hate the profession because of poison and disease... and the list of complaints goes on.

I love being a master Combat Medic. The reason I love it is because I am so important to group cohesion. Case in point: I logged on the other night to check my mail/harvesters and I immediately got a /tell from a friend sayng that I was "needed badly" on Endor and that he and the others were "praying that I would log on". I had to go save all of them from certain doom. And I did too.

I am certain that many people aren't cut out for CM because they want an uber-class that can poison and destraoy with disease entire armies. To me poison and disease are supplemental.... just an added thing that I can do. I rarely even carry poisons around with me. I am support personnel and often I am the ONLY support personnel. I keep people alive in the field (having 50x650-700 ranged d stims helps) because that is my JOB. That is what combat medics do, keep people alive in COMBAT, not COMBAT and keep people alive.

I am pretty much convinced that CM's are the pinnacle of group support. I love it.

I agree 100%. The way you see CM is the way I also feel about the profession. I did take up Master Doc also but that was to support my CM skills not the other way around. Res is a nice thing to have when someone dies to mind dmg but if I was forced to give up one or the other you can bet your last credit I would keep CM and give up Doctor.

It can be very stressful and very rewarding at the same time being the one member of the group that keeps that group going.

I agree, I love playing a CM. Like I have said on the boards, I took it because I enjoy playing support roles. I also took master doc up to even extend my usefullness in a group, only to help the CM side. If I had to choose between them, it would be CM hands down.

I love Combat medic as well. I am known as the Black widow on Kauri, and i can heal my freinds in battles as well. I LOVE my pioson and disease when we raid towns it keeps the opposing team at bay for a while or even out if there is no doctor to heal them.

i agree completely...i love being a CM and picked up enough Doc to supplement my skills in the field by getting Rez, Buffs, and Cure poisons...And when you can keep a large group going even inlarge fights on places like endor, lok, dant, or dath...it gives you a nice warm feeling

Incidently I picked up just enough doctor to have the rez ability and enough scout and pistoleer to be field-capable. I still contribute to damaging mobs, I can still keep up with the group and I bring people back from dead. In all there are very dew things that I can complain about as far as this class is concerned. I should probably look into making some really good poisons for PVP as I have been requested on occasion to "poison the **edit** out of those guys" and haven't been able to comply. And I will be very glad to see terrain negotiation bumped to a total of +40 at master CM so I can finally drop scout and free up some much-needed skill points.

It is just such a good feeling knowing that people NEED you in a group. A feeling that you are intregal to the success of a group. And for that, I will always stay a master combat medic.

I love being a CM. Although i am not a master yet I am 3 2 4 4. I also am a doctor with 0 0 4 4. I love the feeling of healing my group and knowing that they need me. We were on dath the other night and got hit by dark jedi master. I had a ranged area stim b and hit the group with it, before I knew it the 3 that were down due to health and action were back up into the fight. I also used my single ranged c to help keep the graul maurader healed up. Hitting pets for 1500 healing is great

That's interesting. I've had pretty much the reverse experience:

-I, like many of you it sounds, really enjoy playing support classes. I don't really care much about the poisons or diseases - I'm there to keep the group on its feet. I've been a master CM for over a month now, and slowly but surely all my friends realized they really don't need me along. They're all maxed out characters with novice medic and stim B's - so their health/action dropping is never really a problem.

I would, personaly, be overjoyed to learn that I was playing a critical role in group support - but over time I have come to learn that it's just not possible with the current HAM damage system.

As always, I have been a Combat Medic since the beginning. I have gone through the worst of the time and the best of time. I would not change my profession for anything else. I'm Combat Medic first, the rest second.

I love being a Combat Medic for the following reasons.

1. Area affecting poison is critical in Faction War, Guild War, PvP, Duel. Even if they do address the un-healable mind pool damage, just the sheer potential of Combat Medic would out weight any other combat class in the game. We have the versatility, precision and damage to out wit any other combat professional, bar none.

2. Area Stim are essential to hunting in large group. The person posted above stating that his friends have reached the pinicle of their profession and they use Adv. Component laced Stim Bs to heal them fully. But the point I like to make is despite that's the case, I would rather have someone else heal me than use my Stim Bs which cost at about 1000-2000 credit per stim pack. Why would anyone want to use that unless a healer is not available to healp you? Not only that, majority of people hunting have pets that requires constant healing, being able to throw the area affecting heal stims is critical to the combat.

3. Potential. As I've said in the post above and my other posts in this forum. Combat Medic has the best potential amongst all other profession as it stands. With the changes to our crafting and schematics, it will give us an undoubtablely possitive effect to our poison packs' potency directly. In addition to that, we are also addressing other crafting problems whichis the number 1 item on the list provided by our Corespondent. With this said, we have the potential to do 100/100/1000(100 meter range/100+ potency/1000 damage per tick). This is a number I've always touted as the pinicle of our success. It is something I believe we could eventually achieve.

What else do you need more? I don't need Bio-weapon that will limit my range to 64 meters, why would I want to do that if I can throw my area poison at 100 meters?

I love what I do, I'm a force of one. I'm feared and lothed, yet always respected. I'm a Combat Medic.

I Love being a combat medic for one mainreason....

Being in a group! thats what I like to do...I do a lot of soloing also, but thats usualy just to feed the harvesters.

There is nothing better that having a group saying... **edit** I am so f ing glad you are here, we all would have been dead a log time ago!A groups that I go hunting with knows to keep me alive at all costs, It happens a lot that they all go down (mind incaped) and I am the last one standing - laughing at all of them! I even tell them do not heal your self! If they are medic! there mind is to valuable to loose for me!

I mean how many groups ask a BH to join because they are so powerfull! And I really don't care who is in the group! I would go with a bunch of nubs just to have some fun and get them exp!

I thought it over a lot, should I go DOC or CM... then I went out with a CM and they kept us all alive and we got tons or exp!CM is great!

Second reason is the Poison and Desiese - I love to RTEF the f-ers that kill me just because I healed someone and got a TEF. Ha, they usualy kill me again though!
