My DoTs tick for about 250 each but I am not sure what the time between each tick is though.

I toss out a poison and fire just for the extra kick...
disease (slows health regen) and thyroid rupture (slows attacks from the npc) are your main debuffs in long battles...
and in long drawn out battles that300 poison and 300 fire tickadds up. In a five min battle and I have had some and longer it can make a differance.

But you can have 2 of them going....thats 120 DPS...and that's real DPS, not that DPS cr@p that is displayed on weapons.
And I think the tick is a little less than 10 secs, but can't remember for sure.
Not to be frowned upon in PvP or when solo'ing groups either. As a MTK/MCM I take out lairs solo for fun. While working on 1 enemy, the DoT's are causing damage to the rest of the pack. By the time I've killed the first 2-3 with TK specials, the rest have lost 20-40% health from the DoT's.
Also went solo against an Elite Level 90 NS Stalker. Health regen was effectively stopped by the DoT's.
I've gotten some good Rancor teeth by taking on 2-3 Elite level 82 Rancors using the same method.

I did add them, rofl!!! (300 dmg+ 300 dmg) / (10 secs) = (600 dmg) / (10 secs) = 60 dps !!!

I consider DoT's to be strictly PVE tools. as someone mentioned earlier, their great to drop on mob's while your attacking other members, by the time you get around to the poisioned one's they may be half dead. (they're main advantage in pvp seems to be psycological, people to seem to get off their game a bit when they are poisioned or on fire, but veteran pvper's aren't phased)
in a duel (1v1), your first attack should be paralyze (or possibly shock, depending on your opponents resist to debuffs)... then thyroid rupture, traumatize and/or hemmorrage depending on your opponents temp and electrolyte drain. all or most of these should be able to be stuck WHILE your opponent is paralyzed (and not damaging you, or knocking you down)
do low SAC attacks to keep your opponent healing until he runs out of action/mind. (timing here is critical, as if done correctly, your opponent won't be able to knockdown recover)
KD and combo your high damage attacks until he is dead or gets back up.
repeat as needed.
also note... you *DON'T* need a full health bar. only heal as needed and eat mind foods to keep that mind. eat action regen foods so you can spam as many attacks as possible while your opponent is down.
