I've been getting complaints from people I Kill. They say it is not fair that I use poison or desease. What is the deal with this??? I mean, what should a CM do? My special skill is poisoning and deseasing nothing more. I get complaints such as these...

"Its not fair, I was just buffed and im going to have to do it again because of you."

"This is harrasment, I cant move (afeter being incapacitated 3 times in a row)"

"Im going to report you for using poison"

THIS ONE WAS FUNNY "Im going to ban you from this server, you cheated, Im a DEV! and I will ban you from this server" (his name is Diab from Kett.)

"You should not use poison or desease in a friendly duel" (Who said duels are friendly?, They are friendly if you say something like NO DB or something other thand that, no)

Then this guy made me think with this comment. (once he was dead he said) "This is unethical, Im not a Doctor and only doctors can heal desease"

The last comment made me think, IS THIS REALLY UNETHINCAL, All professions that are not Doctor or TK CANT CURE DESEASE!!! Its fun to see them DIE, running around like chikes without a head saying.... "DOCTOR HEAL MY POISON/DESEASE"

What should I say to people that tell me, "I'll duel you, just dont use poison/desease" ? Why shoulnt I use desease if that is my skill, I spent well over 40 SP getting it for some wimp pistoleer to tell me not to use them......

What do you think, is it ethical to use poison/desease?

if they ask you not to use disease or posion, ask what class they are , then have them use a NON class wpn

see what they say to that.

Well... unethical in a duel would be not telling them you are a combat medic and then poisoning... and even then, if they don't check your badges before entering a duel... they are idiots.

In real PvP anything goes.

Thats just what I say anithing goes. Its just as if we told melee players not to use knocdown against us, that is their tool and they will use it.

People are living such double standards when it comes to Cm that it's nigh unbelievable.

Would anyone ask:

Riflemen to not headshot?

Fencers to not use stun baton?

Teras Kasi to not Dizzy/KD?

Of course, usually in duels it is considered cheating if you don't start at optimal range for the opponent.

Which is why I never duel unless it's with friends.

if someone asks you to not use poison during a duel, you just tell them to drop Fencer or Pistoleer and then you won't use poison

I wrote a disclaimer note on my bios that reads like this:

"Note: If you are going to duel me be aware that I am a Combat Medic and I will not hesitate to use Poison/Desease on you or your party. If you think this is unfair or it should be done dont duel me or just dont complain about it."

I'm a doc, get TEF'ed for buffing an overt imp...rebel declares, I say "I'm just buffing, not looking for fights." Rebel says, "you buffed overt, so I'll kill you now." Rebel proceeds to agro me, I politely tell my line, "just a sec," turn around poison/disease the rebel and run around him with my carbine...go overt DB him...and told him "I said not to attack me." Return to line and buff, most of the customers are laughin histerically at this point...great fun.

I won't tripple incap unless it is to prevent someone from cloning, and coming out and getting cheap shots at me or my group. You have to make me REALLY mad to tripple incap. As for duels, if it is a friendly duel (the kind you have when waiting for shuttles in starports), I don't mind disease, but will poison, but if someone asks for a duel, I will tell them that I'm a CM. After duel, I cure the damage that I cause. But if you are just having a duel for fun...there's no need to give a person 5 minutes worth of mind wounds that htey have to heal in a cantina, unless they did something to warrant it. I go by I don't want to "leave the person worse than before they dueled me...except with a broken ego."

this is one of the main reasons why i WON'T duel.
sinse dropping Master Combat Medic a while back, i have not worn my combat medic titles over my head in a while.
i am getting ready to master TKA again (my first true love in the game from day two when i started playing) so i am currently wearing my TK titles alternately until i master. HOWEVER, i am still a combat medic at heart. i LOVE my CM skills and will never drop them below 4004...ever. even if i have to drop TK skills to pick something else up, i will always be half way to master combat medic in case i want to pick up the master title again.

that having been said, nothing bothers opponents more than my NOT starting a duel with the dizzy/kd they are fully expecting from a TK, but rather a nice mind poison with alarming strength, followed by a Lunge1 posture change (easier to land with all the KD defenses out there) and a dizzy after that. they can stay kneeling if they want, i've not knocked them down, so they can still fight back, but if they want to kite, they have to risk standing up while dizzy...

at any rate, i don't duel but MAYBE once a month because people seem to think that i should be throwing stims on them in a fight rather than DOTs.../sigh

Whenver someone is looking for trouble, change your title to Master Combat Medic or better yet "Chemical Warfare Expert", target them, then /nod

Damn... I've always wanted the opportunity to do that.

Ive been attacked numerous times while I was TEF'd from buffing overts before. Nothing like some nice stacked mind poisons to make them change their mind about attacking me. Then they run around and start /shout'ing that they need a cure, at which point most of the other docs ignore them or try and charge a couple hundred thousand to save them from the evil nasty CM. Normally I just let them triple incap. Either way my buff line is usually alternating between laughing at the poor guy or yelling at him for slowing the line down.

If I buff an overt I sometimes ask them to wait around a few minutes until my TEF is gone in exchange for a small discount on buffs.

As for dueling... I typically dont duel since I have almost no weapon skills at all, and I dont like wasting poisons on pointless duels.

this is another very important point that many non-CMs like to brush over. it costs us an exorbitant amount of money to make these poisions and diseases. it is litterally like throwing SpecOps packs full of credits at our opponents. our weapons are one time use weapons that are VERY costly to make and to use. they are unlike any other weapons in the game.

this is another reason why i won't 'duel for fun'
