Area Stim Packs are not using Combat medicine as their skill use. This is bugged and so a master combat medic cannot use B and C types.

Area Stim Pack A is not working, I do not know about B and C because I dont have the skill to use them even though I have mastered the profession.

Ranged Stim Packs do not work at less than 7 meters.

poisons and diseases are resisted usually over half the time, however ill be testing out the C types as soon as I finish making all the factory parts for them.

WhiteRaven, where are you operating out of on Bloodfin?

Do you make your own components or do you buy them from someone? Yet to be able to try out a ranged stim-c due to the factory produced component requirement.

Ok, I also noticed the thing about the area stim packs. The a's seem to heal someone around the person you have targetted, but not the person you selected. It seems random and only strikes one person period. I wondered if the area stim pack requiring medical use was a bug or not. Didn't even think about not being able to use the area stim b's. Ouch.

As to regular ranged stimpacks, I've had mine work as much as 32m away. I experiment on them and increase the range. I also have yet to master the ranged branch of the combat medic tree (just expert now), but I imagine once master, I'll be able to shoot off heals from even further out.

I think this is how they are supposed to work.

So I'm a ditz. Ignore my prior posting about range. I have, however, used my ranged stimpacks on myself and had no problem with them. Also used them in cantinas on people that were less than 7m away and they worked.

The B packs don't work either. I noticed they went of the medical use skill so I gave one to a doctor and he had no problem using it. It had the nice little graphic effect, but like the area stim A, did no kind of healing to anyone.

Ok.. newbie question.

I am still a novice medic with aspirations of being a combat medic... I have successfully crafted several stimpak As... but I do not know how to make them better, ie- more effective. does anyone know how I can do this? Does it matter what resources I choose, and if so, which are my best options for getting a killer stimpak?

Finally, when will I be able to craft B and C paks? Master medic???

Nelander, I was refering to the area stimpacks. I have tested both the area A and B packs and neither work like they are supposed to.

I use ranged stimpack-C's exclusively now. I have never had an issue where it wouldnt heal someone within 7 meters.

You need Food and Chemical Crafting Kit and be next to Public Food and Chemical Crafting station or next to your own medical droid.

Then as you create stimpack you will get option to "Experiment" where you can improve it.

> Does it matter what resources I choose, and if so, which are my best options for getting a killer stimpak?

Yes it does both for Stimpack and for sub-components (that are needed for advanced stimpacks). Look at the OveralQuality, the higher it is (900+ is the best) the better your stimpack will be.

> Finally, when will I be able to craft B and C paks? Master medic???
B at Organic Chem 2
C at Organic Chem 4
D at Master Medic
Note that you need Food and Chemical Crafting Kit for anything other then A.

THanks for starting this thread WhiteRaven

We need to get more of the CMs out there to draw attention to the problems with our profession, as no one else will

1) area effect does NOT work

2) poisons are NOT effective and resisted WAY too much(at times its hard to just poison noob creatures)

3) incorrect skil requirements

and im sure the list goes on

as for a minimum range with range stims i have not had a problem with that whatsoever and have dropped bones on people 0m or 1m away with my ranged stims A-C (seems like most architects are flakes so dont have my own factory yet and have been bumming off a friend, and havent tried D+ yet)..... perhaps server is just not recording my distance correctly who knows
