seems crazy, right?

well, I haven't tried this myself (and maybe I never will) but it MIGHT have pvp potencial-- namley, the abilitie touse headshots to finish off oponents and DB from a distance... I just want to know if anyone has tried this, cuz it seems sorta cool if you pretend there isn't a downside.

I'm doing it now, but not out of PvP potential. My guild needed a CM, and I also wanted to make a Rifleman with this character. I have mind stats of 1000/1000/1000 right now, and I have no problems using Rifle specials and healing everyone in large battles.

That's exactly my template.

I enjoy it, but 2 things make it difficult.

1. Both use Mind to use

2. Rifleman is extremly hard to level until you get close to master

That being said, I love both classes.

Thats the Template i am doing right now. I decicded on it for the potential of Mind Poison with Mind Bleed and Head Shot. And the DB from a Distance is a Big Plus.

I dont use the specials all the time so i havent noticed a big burn on my mind. I usualy start a fight with Mind Bleed and then a Mind Poison then i just do sparatic Head Shots until the target is down.

This works very well in PvE, so long as you have a tank (i.e Pet) to ensure you dont get aggroed. I am not planning on giving up rifleman anytime soon... but if i get bored in the future, i may try and go up the pistol and/or carbine tree just for fun.

A good idea is to havevery high willpower, and 900+ mind. CurrentlyI believe I am 920ish mind, 500ish focus, and 725ish willpower. Healing, poisoning, and spamming specials with my laser riflecan drain 900+ mind points before you can say "Incapacitated". But I am able to regen my full mind bar faster than a Teras Kasi Master who is meditating. Being zabrak helps to attain these stats.

Well I am not a Zabrak i am a Terran. Im not 100% sure what my stats are now as i have been playing with them to see what set up is going to be ideal for me. I dont use the combo to much as i am more concerned with healing than i am killing. One thing i have noticed that i think is insaine is if i am in combat (with no specials qued) and it still takes me forever to fire of a ranged stim to help a group member so i have mostly stopped fighting in order to be available more for healing. I am thinking of making a macro that does /peace;/healdamage but i havent yet.

The best ways i've found to help this is to get a fast gun for those times you are healing frequently. I pull out my spray stick, and just let it go againsta target while i worry about healing. With the 1.3 speed or whatever, plus my +50 rifle speed mods, it can go through a combat queue very quickly. Alternately, clearing the combat queue clears any specials, and lets any waiting heals get thrown.

It's kind of annoying when you want to get that last shot off before you heal, or you need that heal one second before it goes off because of some stupid combat lag, and a group member ends up dieing.

Its only useful in PVP if you master both professions. With leaves you with very few skill pionts for anything else.

Rifleman: 4 - 0 - 0 - 3 = me getting owned by other rifleman and commandos and BHs... but, the thankless job of healing is done very well.

Rifle is much like CM. It doesn't shine until you hit master. At that point you can fire your T21 every 1 second. You actually hit the speed cap. Although you do both use mind. WIth food, spice, dancer and muscians buffs you will have no problems with mind.

For PvP this is a great combo. On a raid you can toss a aoe poison then move back to maxe range and drop folks with you rifle. Also Rifleman offers the only ranged death blow so you still get your faction points.

Doh stupid no edit...

The only draw back is you don't have enough skill points for doc buffs. It's true this is primarly a PvP build for me. I was a swordsman/MCM because of the poison/bleed stack. AlthoughI am moving to rifle because people run wonce they are posoned and they run if they get hit with a melee weapon. Although they can not run from a rifle plus it has a nice bleed.

Maybe Im understanding things wrong but when the +1 DOT goes into effect, a rifleman will be more effective than pistoleer as a combination with CM.

For most players Mind is their lowest Stat and still unable to be healed quickly with a stim....this make "mind poison" still the most effective route. When a player is poisoned and stops at +1, a rifleman will then be able to use a "headshot" to finish him/her off, where a pistoleer will take the chance that his body shots do some mind damage.

For the up-close battles I see a "spraystick" becoming more of a weapon of choice for CM.

I could be totally off base but we will se when the patch comes live.
