Thread: what happens at the CU if your old template does not have the new prereq's?

i am a master rifleman/master combat medic. I do not have the points to get the pistol line... so what now??

well, since you'll be freeing up some of your master medic points, you'll have enough sp to get the pistol line.

The latest I heard was that everyone would get a full re-spec of there skillpoints.
At least all professions directly touched by the CU will.

I guess I was not clear enough. I want to make sure I'm not going to lose combat medic all of a sudden because I don't have the pistol line. I don't want to get it now, cause that would mean giving up rifleman and then having to re-earn it later. Does that make sense?
What I hope, is that I can drop some medic and then pick up the pistol line (not that I actually want it) and not lose any of my elite skills in the process.

Ok, to restate and clearify. At least all professions that are directly affected bu the CU will get a re-spec the first time they log in after the CU hits live. That means they will be able to move around skillpoints as they see fit to suite the new pre-reqs and related changes, no XP required.

You can dump medic to 0/4/0/0 and still be CM, thats a48 sp freed up.

Thanks Blacke, thats the info i was looking for. Guess now I'll have to go play test center to figure out how to rearrange, don't want to screw myself with bad choices by being forced to make a fast decisionlike the jedi did this past summer!

Well I am a master rifleman and master combat medic. After the CU you should have enough skill points to even get two trees in pistoleer. Do the CMs here have any suggestions on what two trees to get?

playing with the char generator I came up with
masterDOC
master CM
4000 Scout
0003 Marksmen.
i am fairly happy with that although I do like the crafting aspect of the game and will miss it a bit.

It's going to be interesting how they implement this.
With the respec, will you be able to move novice level SP boxes only to novice level SP boxes? Elite boxes to elite boxes?
Or will it be a free for all and say you have spent 220 SP- distribute them as you see fit.

I would too if I could I was playing around trying to as closly match my current template as possible which is MDOC/MCM 3 pistols
