Just an idea but I dont think we really need Ranged Weapons Support. With those point we could get Artisan skills to survey or even get a vendor. I would love to have those extra points. I am a Master Doctor and Master Combat Medic and Pistol 4, which leaves me no points left over to do artisan or scout ( for meat ). Which i have to rely on everyone else to gather for my which is a major pain in my a##. With those points I could do artisan and scout. This would make my life so much easier. If anyone have any comments on this or thinks this is a good idea please fill free to flame away. HEHE

I have to disagree.

The ranged weapon support makes perfect sense to me, as all out CM attacks/heals are ranged based.

Also, the special shots that come with the line can be quite usefull to ward off those pesky mobs that aggro you.

Well I would agree with you if any of those range support skills had anything to do with Combat Medic, but it DON'T. You can't suppression fire with a poison or warming shot with a desease. I can put better use of these points to artisan for surveying or scout for hunting.

well, sure,

but thats kinda the point of limiting skill points, so you CANT have one character good at everything.

Why do you think that would make CM good at everything? I just want it where I can survey and hunt for my own meat. Instead of having someone do it for me. I am sure that other people would agree that it is a major pain to get someone to go out and find you a mining site. Not everyone is willing to do this. And how will this make CM good at everything explain this to me, will ya. Enlighten me on how this is. Show me your wisdom.

It is a waste of 29 points. 29 points that could be very useful some where else. If they want it to take an extra line make it like Surveying. HEHE

Thats because skills aren't supposed to cross professions. We shouldn't be able to survey, and other classes shouldn't be able to heal. I mean, geez, you think they'll ever give the CH profession the ability to heal their pets? That would be cutting into our territor... oh, wait, nevermind.

Guess we just don't craft enoug... oh, wait, nevermind.

Guess we're just usually ignored because CM's and Doctors are right up there with Chef's on the Dev's list of 'needy' professions. Please the masses, I suppose. And healers aren't the masses.

Speaking of SL, does anyone else feel a tiny bit guilty about all the new found terrain navigation. I used to team with an SL all the time and I loved the bonus TN she gave me. of course she went and got busy in real life so its good that I have my own now I guess...

We dont need to be changing subject here. I want this to go live . At least I am being reasonable. Some peoples request are way out of line and should not even be considered.

ooh... right. sorry bout that.

As for surveying. Well. I have a business partner who is also a CM. She does the surveying, I do the crafting. We split the profits. Still others I've run across keep 15 skill points handy and switch between novice artisan and novice scout to survey when they need it, and harvest when they don't.

This isn't a fix for the medical profession. This is the workaround I came up with when I decided to surrender artisan.

As it stands, novice medic is a horribly broken starting profession that is offered no way to properly advance itself independently. novice medic is where the fix for all medical professions needs to take place. Unfortunately, the options given to them are not appealing because they don't scale to the larger medicines later. Switching medical forage over to globs of stuff that can be used to make stims and are then used as part of later medicine is going to make mass production of medicine even MORE tedious than it already is, and they refuse to give medics a skill that infringes upon artisan survey (yet they'll infringe upon Squad Leader by giving us Terrain Negociation, and possibly buffs for a group when we're in combat, and they'll infringe upon Droid Engineers by allowing anyone to use a pet thats 10x better than their best combat droid).

Dang... I slipped off topic again.

My point is (if I ever had one), the answer for surveying doesn't belong in the combat medic tree, or in the doctor tree. It requires a fundemental change in our core profession. Novice Medic.
