I read alot about how fun we are in PVP... but how about those of us who are training it up and PVE most of the time? I'm planning to mix it with rifleman of course.

Ive been a TKM/DOC, TKM/Commando (evil), BH, and Rifleman before

Dropped TKM/Commando for BH because ive always wanted to be one (worst mistake ever, tkm/commando never dies) but really like the idea of stacking poison/disease/bleed

Any info is greatly appreciated

I never felt the rewards for pve met up with the expense of our poisons. Then again, the general expense of using medicines don't match up with the rewards of pve...

well lets say money isnt a problem, buying my packs instead of crafting them

looking for actual damage capability

I could do pistoleer instead of rifle easy enough, but from what im reading our damage comes in PVP as we do not currently lose damage like other damage professions do when fighting PCs. In PVE 45 damage a second is nada, so is our ONLY real use as damage dealers in PVP or am I missing something?

I agree that the PvE damage output could be tweaked a bit. But look at it this way, Poison C's are crappy bleeds that can be used up to 80m (as of last night),can be usedon any of the Stat Pools and my favorite aspect is that they can be used to Single Pull Mobs. That comes in handy when you want to kill a grouping of three FS mobs.

This is one of my favorite aspects also. I purely play PvE and this comes in really handy. Just make sure you have a tank to run out and meet them before they get too close

During longer battles with mobs like Krayt's and Knight Sister Elder's we really make a big difference. We can keep our group's mind healed and let our Poisons help tick down the damage. Just don't forget to visit a cantena and get your mind buffed first, and always carry some mind food and spices on you. Not much fun going solo though. We don't get high enough level missions on our own. They are all really weak if you don't go up one of the ranged weapon trees.

What I really think needs to happen is that poisons need to fall under the 75% PvP damage reduction. Right now poisons are a bit too weak in PvE and probably a bit strong in PvP. The only way to balance that is to have the 75% damage reduction apply so that poisons can be increasedto provide good PvE damage while at the same time do fair damage in PvP.

I found my Health Poisons pretty good in PvE, (Withmid level red conning mobs) I could just run up, throw the poison, run around till they get down to one health, and one shot them!

For PvP I think they are great the way they are, we cant incap you, you will more than likley kill us before the poison gets you down to 1, doctors can cure you (might not be good if you are in a group of 20), and now you can eat foods for resist.

On a whim I went out as a Master Combat Medic (with a 4/4/4/0 doctor skill) only armed with some food, a few muons, area poisons, stim-c's, afull set of Ubese armorand a CDEF pistol. Got myself buffed between 800-1200 a stat then got a mind buff (secondaries) from a Master Musician. Flew to Dantooine and solo'd for the next two and a half hours.

First thing I did was throw an area poison. If it didnt hit everything, I did it again. Then I waited as they all agroed on me and kept healing myself as needed. Once they got to the 1 point cap and started to run away I whipped out my pistol and killed em with one shot. Now back then I got combat XP for poisons. So I would get like 12-25 pistol XP and 2900-3600 in combat XP, per kill. Needless to say it was sweet.

When my mind buffs left me tho... different story. I couldn't afford to take the hits to the mind so I would attack at the same time I did a poison. Then i was getting a 25 percent pistol XP to 75 percent Combat XP ratio. The Fishak, Ryshcate and Muon kept me going, but I had too keep an eye on how full I was.

I repeated this process at Fort Tusken a few weeks later (only I was equiped with a kick-butt EE3 carbine and wore a full set of Composite). WOW! This timeI stackedB and C area poisons. Needless to say, I owned the joint.

I have since then dabbled with this template in other areas, The Warren, Nightsisters, Rancor and Krayt hunts, etc.

So in my limited opinion. The best PVE template I have come across is Master Combat Medic / Master Doctor, fully buffed, in full composite, armed withany kind of weapon. (I suggest a melee weapon, cause thats where the mobs are gonna be). Hope this helps.

I don't know about anyone else here, but i went out to test out something i read about the patch-about psns not yielding any type of xp anymore. I am terrified to say that this is true. now that meds do not yield combat xp, they only steal xp, and are far worse in PvE. Looks like CM just got another PvE nerf.

Well, regardless of whether poisons steal XP or not, they do help with damage in PVE. Once your friends dont need XP anyway and are just farming mobs for drops, you'll appreciate the damage a CM can do with stacked poisons.

I'm a carbineer... usually when i throw a poison at something big, if they catch up before dropping to 1 health, it hurts

as for novamarine's suggestion... i actually wouldn't mind it so much *if* all medicine effectiveness reduces by 75% also. then everyone'll be doing the same kinda heal/damage as PvE, but it's like having 4 times the HAM to play with

(i donno how i came up with that,it soundedgoodwhen i first thought about itO.o )
