Thread: CM/CH?

I'm already MCH,and I won't give that up. But I'm thinking about Combat Medic, just because I want to be able to heal some when I group with my kids.

I know it's probably not an uber combo to say the least. But I'd appreciate any thoughts you might have.

If you can heal your pets with CM then I think it would rock in PvE. You would have 2 tanks that you could heal at once (bacta spray).

Its a good support combo to say the least and if you play often with your kids it will be a good help. However, on your own is where you'll feel the sting or lack thereof from your lack of offensive capabilities. That is unless they've made CH creatures damage powerhouses. It really comes down to your type of game satisfaction and/or playstyle. You can always make a BH/Rifleman on another server

Groups always need a good healer and the debuffs can be just as helpful vs. higher level content. This includes both your kids or complete group strangers.

Thanks for all your input.

I've read also that medics can heal wounds. Is this true? And if so, how do they do it?

Thanks again.

Heal wounds is in Novice Doctor now...to my knowledge, you can't heal wounds w/o that. On a side note, I'm MCH/MBH CM dabbler (1/3/0/0 now to play with the DOT's) If I had the respec to do again ( ) I would probably go 4/0/0/0 for the better heals. I was considering 0/0/0/4 to get the paralyze and the snare, but with the pets, the paralyze would break almost immediately unless I worked out a macro to call them back first, then throw the paralyze.

One thing I've noticed with CH (sorry all you CM's for taking up your board with this info ) is that you basically need to think of the pets as a constant DOT. It's very hard to do anything and not take aggro from them. My opinion is that you are better off tanking/healing yourself, since you will just get aggro anyway.

With MCH/MCM, if the advanced DOT's are that much better, they don't seem to generate as much aggro as say hitting with a pistol, so if the damage was decent, you might be able to use the pets as tanks and use the DOTs as your damage.

Just some thoughts for you to ponder

I'm a MCH/Doc0004/CM0400 (whichever one gives you the deuterium toss) and marksman 0044 and I have a lot of fun with it. As was said before use all of your abilities to DoT things to death and consider your critters part of that equation. I like to buff up my pets and send then in with embolden/enrage for a bit, then join the fray ftw.

You can put a great CM/CH template together. I have one and it is tons of fun. If you take MCH/MCM and dump the rest into BH and get a nice krayt Laser Carbine you can dish out some damage. I have a toon that is MCH/MCM BH3100…I can heal myself, have a tank pet, set my enemies on fire, poison them, and dish out 1600 to 1900 damage with critical shot.

If you did not take the investigation line you could get BH 0301 which would give you Improved Critical shot from the carbine line, and would give you an extra +10 ranged defense and +5 General ranged accuracy from taking the LLC specialization 1 from BH

The BH skills are by far the best choice for spending your skill points once you have gone up the CH line and have mastered CM. With this template you can have a ton of fun. I came up with this template to be support for my main toon so my main could basically have a healing bot and pets when hunting jedi…When I do go out with only one toon I have foundthe CM/CH/BHto be my first choice - especially onguild hunts.

That's a scary template there... looks like fun, until I see that it has less than 100 melee and 100 ranged defense... as soon as you outdamage a pet, you're pretty much on burst run?

Beware the bacta spray. Soon as you use it, whatever was attacking your pets will be all over you

I am a MCH, MCM, and it is a great template. One of the best parts about it is that you don't do enough damage to take the hate from your pet, and you can heal your pet, so it doesn't get incapped. I just love this template because it's a good solo and good group template. Good luck, and have fun.

I am also MCM/MCH and I have a lot of fun with it. Part of the problem though is you fight like either a CL54 CH or a CL54 CM, but regardless I do pretty well. I was actually surprised the other night doing the village quests I was fighting the CL75 Sith and when I managed my pets right, and they werent bugged, I was tearing the opposition up. I was using my narglatch trio, grouped, sick them on the MOB, let them generate some hate and then start with the CM attacks. I think I only shot my pistol twice and I have just novice marksman pistols. I really like my template, but it is one that requires lots of management. I generally find I can control most situations in combat with a group by redirecting aggro between my pets, myself and my group members. The only downside to this is not having a strong weapons prof to compliment CH, but still the damage adds up between pets, dots and weaps.

A question for the BH dabbler though, I chose pistols line in Marksman to be better with the Alliance Disruptor, would it be better to ditch the Novice Marksman pistols and pick up some BH instead?

Heck yes...Pick up BH...I am CL 80 and I can use a laser carb with criticle shot and hit for some nice damage. See my post above in this thread.

Healing Hate should be getting looked at, yes it's an issue the Devs should be dealing with.
