I am not sure how CM works, but I am thinking of dabbing in Medicine Crafting and CM Support. Would 0044 allow me to craft the best poison and be able to use it?

Crafting 4 would allow you 10 experiment points, but you would not get all the schematics.
Support 4 would allow you to use everything but C rated area poisons and diseases.
Without taking any boxes from the range tree, however, you would have a CM effectivness of 5.
Any stims that you would be able to use would only have a range and damage of 1.05 times the stim rating. CMs with range 4 use a 1.75 multiplier for range and damage, while masters use a multiplier of 2.
My advice, if you can only take 2 lines, is to buy your meds and get ranged distance and support 4.

Thanks.
Let me see if I got this right. I would be able to use Single Target Poison/Disease C, but I can't chuck poison/stim very far, and poison won't do much damage per tick?

You will be able to use the top level single poison packs, but not throw them far, nor hit much harder than the effectiveness labelled on the packs.
You cannot disease, b/c you need Adv. Ranged Healing Distance in order to gain the /applydisease command.
You cannot craft the best single poisons (I believe) b/c only masters get those. A 4/0/0/4 CM is workable, if you can find a really good crafter, but you throw pretty slowly. It almosot doesn't seem worth the skill points just to get in one poison toss per encounter. :/

I think the best single poison is on the 4th box of crafting tree, only the area stuff are in the master box.
This will most likely to be a healer/support toon for a melee toon, so I am concentrating on mind damage instead of mind wound from disease.
Thanks for pointing out the short comings, such as low damage and short distance, as well as slow firing rate. But I assume poison don't stack, so I probably don't need too many toss per encounter.

Different poisons (A,B,C) do stack...but in PvP it becomes pointless. I was referring more to having multiple targets, and needing to toss 5-6 poisons to hit them all.
You can also use AreaPoisonCs...forget what the stats on those are, though. :/ I really do recommend at least 4/0/0/4 if you're going to dabble in CM.

You canot use Area C's unless they are exp only for ease of use, and even then I am unsure if you can get them down low enough...
Masters make the best stuff because the area stuff is available at that level of crafting, and you get all the bonuses that goes along with being a master. (range*2, and effectiveness *2)
Cm is really a waste to dabble in to be honest, you have to spend 106 sp's just to qualify for novice cm, might as well go the rest of the way, or invest those sp's in something else. Even with 312 power venom, you will still be in the cloning center more often then not. CM is possibly the only profession there really is a benifit to being a master in, unlike pistoleer or carbineer or BH, where you get 90% of your skills in the trees going up to master.

Yeah, but this toon will be a MD, so my choices are between CM or Rifleman. Given the utility and combat function of CM, I think it's worth a try to bring him up to 0044 so that he can chuck good single Poison C, as well make his own weapons.
I will take consideration the warnings about not able to deal damage to multiple targets, so the goal is to bring in the mobs 1 at a time!

4-0-0-4 is the way to go, adn buy poisons. If you do not do the first tree the effectiveness of your poisons will seriously noisedive. Skip speed and crafting.
Im actually skilling my alt TKM and 4-0-0-4 CM right now. No other combo would work to have a good tick on your poisons.

Dont bother with rifleman at all. you will not be fast or accuriate enough to be anything of meaning in pvp. Stick with master doc, master combat medic, use tactics, and you will be able to hold your own vs. any combat class, period. buffs+stims+state cures+poison/disease=win..

How about this combo: DOC 444/ CM 4004/ Rifleman 4004 ???
This would allow you to buy and use poisons and Buffs, heal all states, and still have some combat skills.
I started out as wanting an alt. that could buff, and also use poison. Does not matter to me if I have to purchase them. (we have 3 master docs in my guild who are willing to work some buffs down to 90) I was planning on going Master Doc/Master CM, but I didnt like the idea of having hardly any combat skills...
With rifleman 4004 I will have the speed and accuracy, plus bleeds, headshot 3 and snipershot.
Mainly this toon will be used for support of my other char and pvE. I hope to be able to help when Krayt hunting also.... should I just buckup and go with master CM/Doc??? Not sure if the poison, at this level would be that effective against Krayt.
Any advice would be great...
