Two or 1 word, I dunno. Billboards. Have the art department cook up some billboard premade designs and let the users pick which one they like. I'm not sure about the writing. You see, the only way I see it is that it would have the stand triangle stuff on it and it would look the same for everyones. Now the way they can tell what it says is like house signs. You know the one that has a credit sign on it that somehow stands for "Heban's Kitchen Delights" Or something, I don't know. But anyway, you would hold the pointer over it or click and target it, whatever, and it will display the selected message.
Now for NPC cities, you go to an availible building manager NPC of the building you want to advertise on.
You pay a fee. No there's many ways to say who gets what.
Hmm...sec..brainstorm... Ok I got something. You pay a set fee, and to gain Economy Prestige you must do some kind of errands for the manager. You can then trade these points in to well get better prestige. you see now if someone else wants THAT board then they have to work for it and get on the manager's goodside.
So its competeing and its not stuck with the galaxy-known credit-lugging weaponsmith, because he owns everyone's credits, you know? Every amount of prestige is set to a different manager. So if you have prestige with one manager, you must gain prestige witht he other. Now one way to gain something called Universal Prestige Experience is to keep your billboard up and running for as much time as you can.
So now 'the community' sees your billboard and word gets around the galaxy. These exp. points you can spend on ANY manager to gain prestige point with them.
Player cities. Its fairly simple, really. They work just like harvestors and houses and such. But they range in type when the architects makes them. No, lighting, basic lighting, and decorative lighting. They range in price, maintnence, and lots required. Ah but there's more! Your billboard blows a bulb. You know how to fix it but you don't have the things to repair it with. so you must buy looted parts, or you can have a crafter, probably Architect, but maybe Artisan, make them for you in crates.
-.- o.o O.O 0.0"
But there you have it. Tell me what you think of the overall idea, any problems, and feel free to make suggestions. Thanks
