Hi,
I'm the guild leader and we have a situation of people leaving the game a while ago who own important structures within our city. i.e. The town mall (which is stock with millions of credits worth of goods...thats exluding the decoration), the cantina, medical center, and the town hall and shuttleport.
i know that...or i have been told...the only option i have is to place a new mall and transfer the items from that before the account of the owner is destroyed. is this the same with the other structures?
we have voted a new mayor in - and he has the option to destroy the city hall. if he does this...i understand that all structures (civic) will no longer exist...is this correct?? will the city name dissapear from the map?? if we place a new city hall in the same place.....within 24 hrs...will all the old residents be residents still or will they have to delare residence again...i.e. the once known 'city' will start from 'outpost' again??
i hope this makes some sense. we have tried to contact the people concerned by various methods in RL but they havn't replied 
pls any accurate/correct info would be appreciated.

Any player-owned structure (PA Halls, Cantinas, Hospitals, houses, etc.) currently remain in the game world and accessible by admins provided they do not become condemned for lack of maintenance and the owner's character is not deleted. Only the owner of the structure can transfer ownership, rename the structure, or pay maintenance on a condemned structure. Structures from accounts that have not been paid on for 6 months can be packed up into the owner's datapad , regardless of any admins; once the Structure Purge happens, this will be a regular occurrence.
Civic structures (shuttleports, banks, cloning centers, gardens...anything that draws it's maintenance from the city treasury) are tied directly to the City Hall. Should the City Hall be destroyed (which the Mayor does have the ability to do), all of those types of structures as well as any trainers and decorations and the city treasury will also be destroyed. The city will cease to exist and will no longer show on the map or maintain its rank slot.
If a new City Hall is placed you are creating a new city, regardless of whether or notit is placed in the exact location of a previous City Hall. There must be available city slots open for the planet you are building on, all rank restrictions apply, and that city will advance in the same way any new city would advance. Houses that are absorbed into a city's radius either through advancement or initial placement are added to the city, but the owner's do not automatically become residents. If the owner has already declared residence in that location they must enter the house for their citizenship to be added into the city; in some cases it may be necessary to actually redeclare residence using the structure terminal.

hi,
for the townhall, make someone that is trustworthy and responsible enough, go to the town hall and enter the mayoral race, then make all active citizens vote that guy, so he takes over the mayorship.
The mayor is who owns or has response for the Cityhall and the money it.
For the buildings like cantina or medical center, just get an active member to place a new one

When will the structure purge exactly happen? What does or doesn't it include? If there is information already discussing this please point the way. Thanks!

Wish I had an answer for you on the when. All that I know is that the system for it is essentially ready, it's just a matter of coming up with a way to notify and give notice to anyone who will be affected by it.

Send a letter via real mail regarding their account and what will happen.
