I agree, I'm in the middle of decorating my guild hall, and I really need colored/darker lighting.
However, I looted a couple glowsticks some time ago, and they make a yellowish light.

I agree it would add a whole new dynamic to the game. It would make places like the Entainment room more cooler.

I did this very thing to my SWG cantina.... spent quite a few creds and hours, decorating my cantina with no less thaneight holograms. They were all tucked away inside tables, home-made speaker boxes, etc. It was an awesome effect. The room was dim and casual, and the ceiling was lit in purple (not blue, oddly enough). It was SO much cooler than that "bright as a convenience store" default lighting in the cantinas. Of course... then the holograms were all "fixed"... ::sniffle::
What I would love to see added is an ambient light adjustmentfor all the buildings. If they can crank up thesunfor Rori, surely we can turn down the house-lightsof buildings. And just think how impressive candles, and colored streetamps, would look in a DARK cantina.

Well, currently we have a few... mystical glowing orb, the Litus family artifact, candles, etc. But those only increase the light. I was in a club the other day for a friend's 19th birthday and I noticed how cool it looked. Dim lighting with the bars and seats lit by gentle blue and red lighting. It made for an awesome effect. A friend of mine mentioned to me "Wouldn't it be cool if we could make your SWG cantina like this?"
Now I know it's possible since for a while Holograms did just that. My proposal is that we add in a new line of items. Light bulbs, maybe, or something similar that would either change light in a room to a particular hue emitting from that object (thus you would make consoles actually able to glow...) or reduce light levels altogether (giving a nightclub-like effect). Maybe even add in a mist generator so you could make your room look like the inside of the Nightsister theme park (with that evil-looking red mist). Any thoughts?

Not only would you be able to make cantinas look awesome, but tactical rooms would look great with low-lighting as well. Picture something like the Death Star bridge, a couple of holograms glowing in the dark. Consoles casting lunatic shadows across the faces of the tactical operators. A radar screen in the backdrop blinking with small dots, each one a soldier in the middle of a fierce battle. Would that not look SO FREAKING AWESOME?!?!

It would. But, is there any objects in-game that can do what is being asked already?

I've got two lights in my house I forget what they are called but it's something along the lines of "streetlamps" or something. They're the little square ones with the iridescent tops, not the big ugly streetlights normally seen in cities. Anyway, I have a Large Tatooine house and I put each one in one high up in the domes of the large main room. At night time when the lights come on, the room gets a really cool blueish-teal glow. Unfurtunately, the light has to blend with the house's built-in lights and they only work at night time but it's quite a sight anyway.

Lighting effects in houses like they have in the avatar platform hallways would be nice.
