I know they vary from planet to planet. I have heard that Yavin is a total no build zone. I have looked everywhere for some information on this, but cannot find it. Is there a place I can find this info?

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone could help me on a little problem.

My guild and I have decided to up sticks and leave Dantooine and head to Lok since our city on Dant was becoming too cramped with houses belonging to people who no longer played.

We found a nice spot on Lok just over 1k from Nym's and managed to place the city hall. However, even though our radius now extends into Nym's we still get the "you can not build here" rubbish.

Now I was under the impression that when placing a city it would only allow you to place if it did not potentially overlap with another player city ie. it would take into account all cities maximum limit and only allow building if these did not overlap.

We assumed that this would be the same for an NPC city like Nym's but when I was allowed to place about 50m outside the boundary weassumed that maybe once our radius extended into Nym's we would be allowed to build there. However we got the can't build here system message everytime we tried.

I contacted a CSR who told me that unfortunately they could not help me with this and that I would not be able to build in the municipal zone.

That would mean that if we stayed we would be wasting half of our potential build space as the radius would extend further into Nym's.

Can someone confirm that this is the case and that there is nothing that we can do?

That is indeed the case, just as if you built your city within limits of water or a mountain. A no-build zone is a no-build zone, reguardless of your city "limits". Stinks, yes, but that's is how I was told it works when we put down our city over a year ago.

Thanks for that guys. We've decided to relocate a bit further out to avoid this problem. At least we know now.

Thanks again.

We built a city near the actual edge of the playing limits, lol. If you go about 200 meters south of the city hall you hit an invisble wall. However we don't mind, my only question is will our city still be able to advance in lvls even though it extends past the actual bouderies? Or are we just going to be stuck a lvl 2 city? We don't mind that the space to the south is unusable, we I just want to know if the city will be able to reach metropolis (outside of the player city cap problem).

If I built a City which I will in the next months, I would make it far far away from NPC cities.
