I am about to be away from a computer for about 2 1/2 mths so I am going to close my account and I want to dbl check that my house wont collapse. This is true right?

Your house will never fail unless you have no more money in the maintence or no money in your bank. Best way is if you have a large house place like maybe 200k that should keep it up for like maybe 2 or 3 months. If you have small and medium, 100k should cover those.
