Thread: Player City growth near map boundary question

I am hoping someone can answer my question for me.
My friends and I built a Player city on Tatooine near the Southern border of the map.
We were hoping to grow to level 4 so we could get a shuttleport. We got the required number of citizens and waited for next city update only to be told we could not get level 4 because of planet caps.
The thing is since then a couple other new cities have recieved shuttleports and we have not.
Our city is close enough to map boundary that we are thinking the growth to level 4 would add enough size to the city limits that they would go past the server boundary.
Is there any validity to our suspicions? Is this what could be keeping us from getting level 4 city?

If other cities have gotten shuttles since then there are a few things that could be happening. It could be that they were already of Rank 4, but just hadn't put a shuttleport down. It could also be that a Rank 4 city dropped to Rank 3 after the time of your update but before someone elses.
Advancement isn't based on who earned it first, rather the first city to update after an opening appears gets the spot.

Our PA has a city that is right at the boundary too so I'd like to find out if this will be a problem as well.

I doubt the boundary has anything to do with it. As a previous poster said, the city who gets the level 4 slot is whoever is in in their update cycle when the slot opens up. There is no queue of people awaiting the level 4 slot unless you happen to have the same update cycle which is unlikely.
